About me and my therapy practice

We are the same, you and I, separated only by the roles we play, and the lessons we are here to learn.

Mine have taught me much about the profound nature of consciousness, the absurdity of the human condition, the reality of enlightenment, and the ways in which suffering can be truly transcended.

And having walked the walk, and died the (many) deaths along the way, I help others transcend their own suffering, through my work as a knowing Psychologist, Therapist, Guide, and Advisor.

I work with a broad range of clients, on a wide range of issues, but with over 30 years of proven experience in high-value commerce and trade, I am especially well-placed to help working people heal, evolve, navigate change, and answer the ‘big questions’; whilst reconciling conscious expansion with the practical demands of life at work and at home - using the challenges of both as tools for growth.

Through bornpsychology, I offer to you what worked for me – in the form of Insight Meditation Therapy (â€Òµ²Ñ°Õ’); a modality that combines the complementary endeavours of seeking knowledge (â€Òµ²Ô²õ¾±²µ³ó³Ù’), with introspection (‘M±ð»å¾±³Ù²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô’), and healing (‘T³ó±ð°ù²¹±è²â’); to cultivate true sovereignty of mind, and turn suffering into serenity – irrespective of circumstance.

Primarily, the work I do is defined by the practical manner in which it brings the seemingly esoteric into the sharp focus of the ‘real-world’; and its ability to dovetail psychological, existential, and ‘spiritual’ work, with the life circumstances around us – whatever they may be.

Overall though, my work with IMT may be regarded as a quest for supreme ultimate knowledge, which emphasises the importance of understanding such phenomena as identity, attachment, scarcity, and desire; and the relationship which exists between consciousness, thought, emotion, belief, and ‘r±ð²¹±ô¾±³Ù²â’; to help humanity evolve collectively as we heal individually; and in doing so, create a world more abundantly defined by Truth and Love – rather than illusion and fear.

Practice description

Psychospiritual development is a dual process of both psychological work and spiritual realisation; and whilst in many respects they serve each other as they unfold in parallel, in other ways the two processes are sequential – meaning that there is often much psychological work to be done, before the higher echelons of spiritual awakening can be unlocked.

Practically speaking, IMT sessions are led by what is ‘in the room’ on any given day, and are therefore fluid, flexible, and multi-faceted; involving anything from deep psychological work to transcendent spiritual exploration - with meditative and existential phenomena covered along the way - through Talk Therapy, Higher Knowledge, and Introspective Meditation.

Naturally, the things which come up for healing or enquiry are deep, high, and wide, but by way of example may include such things as: unresolved trauma, distorted thinking, inner child, identity and attachment, insecurity and co-dependency, neuroticism and narcissism, materialism and belief, loss and change, scarcity and conflict, hope and expectation, loneliness and apathy, consciousness and meditation, surrender and purification, perception and ‘reality’, plant medicine and entheogens, faith and surrender, divination and oneness, the search for meaning, spiritual practice, and psychospiritual integration.

Sessions are typically held between 1 and 4 times a month (2 or 4 times mostly), either online or in person, in blocks of 50 minutes. Session fees are on a sliding scale depending on their monthly frequency.

For engaged clients, there is also the opportunity to join the monthly Opengroup sessions for no additional cost. These sessions are multipurposed, and are there to help us learn from each other, using one another as ‘mirrors’, whilst also providing opportunities to share, introspect and meditate.

My first session

The first time we speak will be during a free inital consultation; during which we can decide whether the chemistry is right between us, and I can answer any questions you may have about the nature and process of this sacred work.

Assuming all is well and we decide to work together, the first 'proper' session will take the form of an 'initial interview'. I do not 'set the clock' for this session, (and I do not charge anything extra); it is a very important session which allows me to better understand you, and almost invariably will bring into your consciousness things which subsequently become part of our initial work together.

For both the consultation, and the initial interview, there is nothing for you to prepare. Just come along, and I will guide you through absolutely everything.
