About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Charlotte. Thank you for taking the time to look at my page. I am a Person-Centred Therapist offering face-to-face, online and telephone counselling for adults, children and young people. 

I am trained and experienced in trauma counselling, working with survivors of domestic abuse and current or historical sexual abuse. I have worked for many years in mental health before becoming qualified as a counsellor.

At times life can feel overwhelming for different reasons, I offer a warm, safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to learn about yourself and your journey. Supporting you in exploring your issues, beliefs, behaviours and feelings. Looking at your patterns of behaviour, self-esteem, confidence, and negative self-talk at a pace that is comfortable for you. Counselling offers a space to reconnect with your inner values and self-worth, to grow and progress.


Qualifications

- BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology

Exploring, investigating and applying Psychology. Biological psychology. Child development. Social psychology. Counselling and forensic psychology.

- Level 5 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling

Person-centred approaches to counselling. Counselling skills, development and practice. Comparative theories and approaches in counselling. Personal development. Human development. Counselling for grief and loss. Counselling young people. Client work in therapeutic counselling.

- CYP Bridging Course Certificate

Working with children and young people around bereavement, sudden death, divorce, family breakdown, domestic abuse, bullying, school and transitions.

Practice description

My practice is person-centred, which means your sessions will be led by you.

I am experienced in trauma and abuse therapy. I also work with clients who have experienced depression, anxiety, self-image issues, self-harm and self-confidence issues, loss, bereavement, identity issues, eating disorders, PTSD, OCD, stress, work-related issues and domestic abuse.

I attend continuous training in LGBTQ+ Awareness, Trauma Informed Practice, Attachment Styles, Intergenerational & Historical Trauma, and Working Addiction training. Eating Disorder Awareness, Understanding Psychosis.

My first session

I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute chat on the phone or Zoom to find out what brings you to counselling and how I can help.

I offer short-term and long-term therapy. You can choose face-to-face, online or telephone counselling would suit you best. Please contact me by email and we can arrange a time to talk on Zoom or over the phone to help you decide if I am the ‘right’ counsellor for you. This initial 20-minute consultation is free of charge. If you feel comfortable, we shall agree on a set day and time each week.

An agreement about counselling, confidentiality, cancellations and payment details will be sent for you to complete before your first session.
