About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling to cope and need support? I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space that supports you to understand yourself more deeply and consider new possibilities. By helping you to connect to your inner resources we can work together to address the places where you feel stuck or overwhelmed, and remove the obstacles that are holding you back from being truly you.
I work generally with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, lack of meaning, self worth and loss. I also work with cross-cultural and relationship issues relating to the Asian / Chinese identity, and with other diverse cultural communities.
With over ten years' experience in the field of health and well-being, my approach is relational and non-judgmental, with an understanding of people that is continually deepening. I provide a safe space to reflect on what is meaningful and valuable to you, supporting you to find a way forward through difficulties, and make choices and changes that support your well-being and personal goals.
Practice description
Integrative – informed by Psychodynamic, Attachment Styles, Humanistic, Relational, Person-Centred. Behavioural Therapy for Lasting Behaviour Change.
As an experienced therapist, informed by professional and lived experience, I am able to hold the space for deep and sometimes difficult exploration, to support re-connection to your authentic self. Our primary relationship is with ourselves, and is key to understanding how we experience life and its influence on our physical and mental wellbeing.
Counselling training in Psychodynamic and Clarkson 5-Strand Relationship Model, along with practice in bodywork, talking therapies and behaviour change experience inform my Integrative Counselling approach. I am interested in how developing a relationship with our body can be a valuable resource - supporting us to stay steady as well as help us to release old hurts.

My first session
I offer an initial 30 minute phone or online consultation (no charge).
The first counselling session is spent getting to know you - your background and context. We will discuss what you are seeking support with, and for you to get a sense of whether you would like to work together.
I generally recommend 6 sessions to start off with, so that there is a chance to establish a working relationship together, but there is no obligation to do so.
All sessions are 50 minutes long.
