About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychotherapist in the South-West of England offering you support, warmth and a listening ear whether you're feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, depressed or may have deeper issues impacting upon your life. Whilst creating the space, we can work together in a comfortable, safe and confidential environment, whether online or in person.

I have been described as calm, grounded and collected. While I enjoy spending time in nature and with those closest to me, you can often find me behind a book. I have been exploring consciousness and the psyche for the last 25 years and have a constant thirst to discover and learn more. I am particularly interested in working on how our undigested life experiences impact our lives still in the present.

Creating Space is about coming back to our true selves, to the quiet space within each of us. I believe each of us can achieve this - sometimes with the aid of others to get us through difficult moments in our lives that we all face.

I have been working with clients for the last 10 years in Core Process Psychotherapy. And working with clients in Craniosacral Therapy for the last 15 years. I have a particular interest in working with people around the impact of Boarding School on their lives. I have spent many years working in mental health as well. I have extensive experience in trauma work and working with how it gets held in the body. So much of the work is finding the 'pace' that best suits clients to get in touch with undigested life experiences in a safe manner. I am polyvagal informed, so like to support clients into mindfully becoming aware of their own 'felt sense' and getting an embodied understanding of the biological affect on their nervous systems.

I was accredited with the UKCP for the last five years and have recently moved over to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and am a MÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ registered member and adhere to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ code of ethics.

Practice description

Core Process Psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that draws on Buddhist Psychology, object relations, pre & perinatal psychology, attachment theory and contemplative practice. The origins are a blend of developments in western psychotherapeutic principles and awareness of experience in the present moment that stem from a Buddhist philosophy. It is humanistic, psychodynamic, integrative, transpersonal, and psycho-spiritual in nature.

Core Process work is a joint enquiry of how we are in relationship to our present experience and how past conditioning expresses itself in the present and conditions our lives. The Intention is to witness our experience without changing it and to also sense how we relate to our experience, so that it becomes possible to move in life with greater ease and flexibility. Core Process work is based on an understanding of an inner wisdom that naturally orientates towards healing as we integrate and free ourselves with insights into the ways in which we hold on to our suffering.

Our earliest experiences may impact on how we are in the world and this occurs in relationship to others, and it is through the therapeutic relationship that opportunities to explore other ways of being can be held and supported through the healing and transformational process in the present moment. This approach is a gentle invitation to explore the nature of relationship and observe the shapes and patterns from which we meet the world. Where is my place and how do I view the world?

Orienting to the inherent wisdom and health of a person is an important part of the work within Core Process Psychotherapy as this enables a person to reconnect to places within that may have been obscured by early experiences. Working with what supports the person and allowing space for their potential to grow strengthens our core foundations so that life can be lived more fully.

My first session

The right person to support you is really important and can make all the difference. Research has repeatedly demonstrated that it is the relationship with your therapist that is the foundation for lasting impact.

The first step is to arrange an initial meeting in person or online for approximately 30 mins, where I can answer any questions that you may have and you can get an idea of how it would be to work together. This intial consultation is free.
