About me and my therapy practice
If you're struggling right now, or wanting to explore more about who you are and why you get stuck in the unhealthy or unhelpful patterns that do not serve you anymore, therapy can help. It can be a huge step to come to therapy for the first time, and I understand how intimidating and exposing this can feel; we all need help sometimes and I will do my best to make you feel at ease in your first session.
Often, clients want to explore who they are and discover how their childhood has shaped who they are now; I welcome this exploratory work, and have experience with existential problems, sense of self, relationship issues, exploring queerness, trauma, depression and anxiety. At the moment I specialise working with students but have worked with adults from all backgrounds, ages and situations over the past few years.
I also specialise working with highly sensitive people who have trouble managing and regulating their emotions, and find it difficult being understood by others who view the world differently. I also help clients realise their own autonomy in an understanding, validating and empathic way. Therapy is your space in which to explore who you are in a safe, non-judgemental, shame-free environment.
Practice description
I work in a relational and exploratory way - encouraging your autonomy by coming up with a plan together and accessing the resources that you already have within you.
I'm incredibly passionate about what I do - you can depend on me to be constantly growing and learning about this fascinating field in which to better help you.
In particular, I feel that backpackers and shift-workers can find it hard to access therapy services. I have also been working with students in the past couple of years and am working at a University in London with students for short-term therapy from February 2024.
My first session
Normally, a brief phone call before the session starts will be necessary to gather the details of why you want to come to therapy and to see whether we would be a good fit.
The first session will be a 50 minute assessment where I will take down details of past events, reasons and goals for therapy, and background details. This will be the only session where I take notes.
My sessions last 50 minutes and will be at a time and a place which best suits you; either Walk-and-Talk therapy, online or Face-to-Face.
