About me and my therapy practice

As a Counsellor with many years of experience of Christian belief and practice, I work with people from all church traditions (as well as people from other faiths and those holding no specific belief) who seek a counsellor who understands the importance of integrating their spiritual beliefs while supporting their mental and emotional wellbeing.

I offer a warm and relaxed emotional and physical environment where I can help you to explore the challenges you are facing. With me, you can share your thoughts and feelings in total confidentiality. I listen with respect, and without judgment, and with a depth of understanding of your faith. In this safe environment, you will find that putting your thoughts and feelings into words opens the door to new insights and helps you develop the tools to manage your emotional landscape. You can make changes if you wish, or simply gain a better understanding of what is happening in your life.

I never seek to give advice or impose my own views. Rather, I will encourage you to explore your own circumstances and beliefs, drawing on your own unique experience, values, and abilities to find a way forward.

I have a particular interest in helping people going through life transitions such as new relationships/marriage, menopause, empty nest syndrome, divorce, retirement and bereavement and loss. I have also worked extensively with women in areas including personal development, achieving their full potential, overcoming discrimination and recovery from domestic abuse.

Since emotional, spiritual and mental health often impacts physical wellbeing, you may find that counselling alleviates problems such as insomnia, migraines, digestive issues, skin complaints or other emotionally driven disorders. Through this process, most people find they begin to move towards a healthier and more satisfying life.

About me and my therapy practice

How can I help you?

The everyday issues of life can be overwhelming at times. This can result in depression, confusion, loss of self-esteem, anxiety, challenges in relationships, feelings of loneliness and fears about the future. If any of this sounds familiar, I can help you unpick the tangle of thoughts and emotions you are experiencing, support you to understand any underlying issues, and begin to develop tools to navigate a way forward.

How can counselling help?

As a qualified Counsellor, I will support you to explore what is happening for you in a warm and relaxed environment. You can safely share your thoughts and feelings knowing that I will listen with respect, and without judgment. As you put your thoughts and feelings into words, you begin to get to know yourself better and develop new ways to manage your own emotional landscape. You can make changes if you wish – or it may simply be a relief to begin to understand what is happening.

Faith Awareness

I have experience in working with people from Christian and other faith traditions – as well as those with no specific belief – who want to integrate their spirituality with their mental and emotional wellbeing. Regardless of the theoretical approach, the most important thing is for me to listen and understand, and support you to move towards your goals.

• Stress and anxiety
