About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Lily and I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ registered counsellor working with adults in person in Haddington and online. I offer a confidential and compassionate space to work alongside you through the difficulties you are having. I am a pluralistic therapist and a key part of this is treating you as an individual and tailoring counselling to your needs. I can support you to identify where you are stuck and support you to make some changes. We will look at your strengths and your preferences and tailor our sessions around this.

I have worked in the mental health sector within both a charity and the NHS with a diverse range of people. I have worked with people who need support around depression, anxiety, mood disorders, intrusive thoughts, obsessive-compulsive disorder, addictive behaviours and perinatal anxiety and depression.

For me, the journey to becoming a counsellor has been quite a natural one. I have always been interested in helping people and I am passionate about helping people feel seen and valued. I believe that everyone needs some support at some point in their life to make changes. I have a huge amount of respect for my clients who come for support. To make this as easy as possible I usually arrange to see clients quickly from the initial contact.

I advocate for equality. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and also provide some reduced-cost counselling for students and those on a lower income.

Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss beginning counselling or to arrange a video or phone call to ask some questions and see if this type of counselling is the right fit for you.

Practice description

I am a pluralistic counsellor. There are many different types of counselling, the difference with pluralism is that it is based on the idea that clients are all individuals andI have been trained in multiple modalities and do not just use one modality. These include compassion-focused, person-centered, narrative and acceptance and commitment therapy.

We can work together in a way that is best suited to you and you will be involved at every stage as I believe you are the expert in your own life. The focus will be on achieving the goals you wish to achieve and doing that in a way that uses your existing strengths and resources.
