About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I really understand how confusing it might be to know what might help you right now, particularly if you have never reached out for help before. Even if you have received therapy in the past, sharing your innermost feelings with someone new might seem quite overwhelming.
If you want to take the next step, I will be there for you. We can take things at your pace and with your agenda. We work together to explore strategies which will help you navigate and cope with life.
My therapeutic approach is Compassion Focused, which helps you to discover and develop a kinder inner voice, especially if your negative thoughts overwhelm and overpower everything you think or do, or you are dragged down by low mood, or have inner feelings of shame or guilt.
Life sometimes throws us into turmoil, whether it be through: bereavement, miscarriage, divorce, redundancy, or childhood trauma. I believe that we all have the inner strength to find ourselves again and can work through the toughest of times. When given the space to discover new ways to cope, we can discover how strong we have always been and learn again to trust our own judgments.
No matter what is happening or has happened in your life, we will work together to make sense of it all. And while you are always in control of the direction of therapy, I will be there, drawing on a range of techniques and tips, to help you rediscover your true strengths.

Practice description
If you're still unsure if counselling is right for you, I offer a free 10-minute phone consultation. This will give you a chance to ask me questions and see if you feel comfortable working with me as your counsellor. There's no obligation to book further sessions after our chat; it's simply a way for you to explore your options.
To schedule a consultation, you can call me and leave a brief message with your name, phone number, and a good time for me to reach you. Alternatively, you can email me at kim@mettacounselling.com.
To accommodate your busy life, I offer counselling sessions in a variety of formats: face-to-face, Google Meet, or phone calls.
Face-to-face: We can meet in my counselling room located in Warrington.
Video Conferencing: We can meet virtually, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your own home.
Telephone Calls: I can also arrange counselling sessions over the phone if that's your preference.
The flexibility doesn't stop there! If you decide to book multiple sessions, you can choose to switch between these formats from week to week to best suit your needs. We'll discuss this further during each session, and you can book appointments in advance.
My first session
On our first session, we'll discuss how we'll work together and what you hope to achieve through counselling. You can ask any questions that arise to ensure you're comfortable with everything before we begin.
