About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, my name is Jamie and I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor. I understand how overwhelming seeking counselling can be and recognise how much of a big step it takes to contact someone like myself to talk about your personal difficulties.
I am experienced working with adults and young persons over the age of 16, and my training being person-centred, I focus on respecting your unique experience and supporting you to find your sense of agency and self belief.
I offer a space for you to talk and feel heard, in an unconditional, compassionate way. I strongly believe we are all the experts of ourselves and I will encourage you find your expert through discovering your inner resources.
I provide a warm, empathic and confidential space, where you can explore your personal difficulties and develop greater self awareness and understanding which can lead to long term change.
I value your worth as an individual, which is expressed through my continued efforts to build a trusting, therapeutic relationship. I believe this therapeutic relationship is a collaborative process in which we work together to best meet your individual needs at your pace.
Practice description
Each one of us brings our own unique way of being in the world, that is how you see the world and yourself and how you cope with life's challenges. I work comfortably with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, and relationships.
I work alongside you allowing space to explore your feelings and emotions with what is going on within your life, increasing your self awareness and promoting growth within a safe and confidential space.
Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes on a weekly basis, however your needs are paramount so we can tailor sessions to suit these.
Reviews of counselling are undertaken every few weeks to ensure you are comfortable and that we are making steps forward. The frequency of sessions are flexible as I work both open-ended and short term.
