About me and my therapy practice
It can be hard to understand our emotions, and know how we feel about them. If you feel like you need someone to talk to, I’m here to help. I aim to provide a space to allow you to process these emotions, and work through them. What you bring to each session will be discussed confidentially and free of judgement.
I have experience working as a therapist, both professionally and as a volunteer. I have volunteered for Community Care & Wellbeing Service (CCAWS) and Vision Support charities. At CCAWS and Vision Support I worked with a wide range of clients in vulnerable life situations. I learnt how important it is to empower people to have control over their lives again.
If you choose to start sessions with me, I will aim to help you identify your difficulties, develop your understanding, and utilise your own ability to help yourself.
Practice description
During sessions, I will use an integrative therapy approach. This is to make sure my practice adapts to my client’s needs; valuing them as an individual. It will involve a person-centred foundation, and may use techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness.
Since the pandemic, counselling has changed to include a greater focus on remote therapy. During this time I saw how helpful video call or telephone therapy could be for some clients. That is why I’m eager to offer both in-person and remote therapy sessions.
Whether you would like to start therapy, or have more questions, please feel free to contact me.
My first session
I offer a free first session either online or in-person and lasting the standard 50 minutes.
