About me and my therapy practice
I'm an advocate for personal growth, healing, & self-discovery. With two decades of experience in neurodiversity & mental health, my journey into counselling is built on a passion for supporting people.
What pushed me towards becoming a counsellor was my personal journey. Over 15 years ago, I began an exploration of myself through therapy. This changed my view of myself and made me realize how valuable I am, & allowed me to believe in myself more.
This change in me motivated me to become a therapist. I want to offer others the chance to be listened to, understood, &supported as they heal and grow. My experiences of feeling vulnerable gave me an understanding of the challenges people face when wanting to understand themselves & their feelings better.
Drawing from my extensive training & personal experience, I am well-equipped to understand your challenges and how they might have impacted on your self esteem and self worth.
Being a parent to premature babies has given me a clear understanding of the emotional baggage that may come with the journey to parenthood, often valued by parents of twins +. Life often doesn't go as planned, and I'm here to support those who face unexpected challenges on the road to parenthood.
Having received a late diagnosis of dyspraxia & ADHD, I understand firsthand the impacts on daily life & self-esteem. My goal is to create a safe space where you can talk about these challenges, figure out ways to deal with them, and appreciate your unique strengths. We'll work together towards a better, more empowered, future that fits your needs & dreams.
Today, I work with many different people, all dealing with their own set of challenges & trying to reach their full potential. Clients often tell me that working with me makes them feel safe, heard, understood, & accepted. My approach embodies empathy, respect, & a desire to help people deal with life's difficulties & build relationships.

About me and my therapy practice
It is not easy to come up with anything fresh and original in these blurbs, so instead I will stick to basics.
The relationship between you and your therapist is unique, one you will not experience anywhere else, and one where you are at the heart. I am separate from your social circles & family, and I won’t judge, give my opinion or give advice. Together we can create a space that is entirely focused on you and what you need. Given how important the relationship is between client and therapist, it is important you feel we are a good match.
I’m friendly & down to earth with a bit of geek thrown in. I’m neither mystical nor aloof, however, I am committed to building a relationship with you that will allow you to be honest, open, honest and feel safe enough to explore yourself, your world and your problems.
I'm a fully qualified, experienced, Person-centred Counsellor and am an Accredited Member of the NCPS and member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ.
Over the years I worked in education with young people with Mental health conditions, as well as those with ASC/ADHD/ Neurodivergent conditions and/or trauma histories, before I became interested in supporting adults outside education.
My training included approaches such as CBT, Person Centred, TA and many more, which means that together we can work in a way that suits you.
Taking the first step can be difficult (and scary!). Please just get in touch using the method of contact you feel most comfortable with (or maybe find the least worse). If you're not sure what to say, then keep it as brief as you like- I am not going to judge you for it as I sometimes find contacting a person for the first time difficult too.
Specialisms
Though my career has specialised in helping neurodivergent adults, I’ve also worked with clients experiencing, PTSD, depression, psychosis, EUPD, BPD, anxiety, trauma, attachment and relationship issues, and abuse. There's no problem too big or too small to benefit from therapy.
Practice description
I offer in-person appointments in Canterbury, but have limited availability. I have found many people like online and telephone counselling, as they can fit it around their schedule and life.
I usually use doxy.me, but if you'd prefer a different video counselling format please let me know and I'll check if it's secure enough. If you don't like any kind of video counselling and would prefer telephone counselling, that's okay too.
Feel free to visit my website for more information about me or counselling.
My first session
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel scary, so after taking this big step it’s important for us to check that we’re a good match.
I offer a free 15/20 minute phone/video call so we can meet each other and have an initial chat.
I'll explain a few things (like confidentiality) then the rest of the time is yours to ask any questions and let me know what you're struggling with. If you find it difficult to get going, I can ask you some questions to help.
You can then decide if you want to book a first appointment from there.
During our first session, we will explore in more depth what has bought you to counselling.
