About me and my therapy practice
I offer in-person private psychotherapy in London, both at Oxford Circus and in the City, as well as online or telephone sessions when required.
I work with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and relationship issues and provide a confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about your difficulties. Articulating what's on your mind to somebody trained to listen can help create a meaningful shift in itself. But if we work together I will be helping you notice and examine patterns in your behaviour and feelings and take fresh perspectives on your experience. We will also seek to understand how your past might affect how you interact with the world now and your ability to face what life throws at you.
I work psychodynamically, meaning that as we think together about your experiences I will be paying particular attention to what may be going on for you unconsciously. Most of us already 'know' what has happened to us; what may be lacking is true emotional understanding of how we are affected. It is this that leads to lasting change.
Practice description
I work as a psychotherapist both in private practice and in the Trauma Service at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust. I am registered with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, the BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) and the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and abide by their ethical codes. My first session
It can be daunting working out what sort of therapy might be helpful to you, let alone which therapist to make contact with. Personal fit is vital and we would start with a brief phone conversation at no charge, followed by one or more consultation sessions before deciding to work together. An initial consultation would normally last for 90 minutes to allow you sufficient time to share the issues that have brought you to therapy and let me know about your background, while also getting a feel for how I work. I will be listening carefully but may ask more questions at this stage than is usual in ongoing sessions. Subsequent sessions would be 50 minutes and would usually be weekly, at the same time each week. What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
