Availability
I am available to work daytime, evenings and weekends. My availability will also depend upon whether the therapy is in-person or remote via telephone or video call. I am happy to do home visits in certain circumstances such as care homes, mobility or other issues that prevent you from leaving your home.
About me and my therapy practice
I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate covering both adults and children.
I use an integrative approach, combining person-centred, psychodynamic, and Jungian principles to adapt therapy to each client's needs. My work is rooted in person-centred values, believing in each individual's capacity for growth. I aim to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Drawing on psychodynamic theory, I help clients uncover how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape their present. Additionally, my experience with organisational dynamics has given me insight into how workplace stress and toxic environments affect mental health, particularly when working with clients facing career transitions or burnout.
My approach became more holistic after qualifying as a social worker in 2008. I consider the person in their social, emotional, and relational contexts, helping clients develop practical tools for managing everyday life. Since then, I’ve worked in various settings, continually developing my practice.
I support clients with a wide range of issues, including:
- **Anxiety and stress**: Addressing high-pressure environments and career changes.
- **Trauma**: Helping clients process past experiences, including childhood trauma.
- **Depression and self-esteem**: Identifying and challenging deep-seated beliefs.
- **Relationship difficulties**: Exploring relationship dynamics, both individually and with couples.
- **Life transitions**: Navigating significant changes like divorce or parenthood.
- **Personal growth**: Using Jungian principles to explore deeper aspects of self and identity.
My aim is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and coping skills. Therapy with me involves both reflection and action, as we work together to explore underlying patterns and develop practical strategies for positive change.
Practice description
When working with me, you can expect a compassionate, empathetic space where your thoughts and emotions can be explored safely and without judgement. I work from an integrative approach, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, and Jungian principles to meet your unique needs.
In our sessions, I help you understand the patterns of behaviour and emotional responses that may be contributing to your current challenges. By reflecting on your past experiences and unconscious influences, we can work together to build greater self-awareness, which can lead to meaningful change.
My approach is holistic, taking into account not just your internal world but also external factors such as relationships, work, and societal pressures. I am particularly experienced in helping clients navigate workplace-related stress and burnout, drawing from my background in understanding organisational dynamics.
I balance reflection with action, supporting you in developing practical strategies to cope with difficulties while fostering personal growth. Whether you are facing stress, trauma, relationship issues, or seeking personal development, I work collaboratively with you to help you build resilience and develop a stronger sense of self.
Through our work together, my goal is to help you find greater clarity, purpose, and well-being. I believe in the importance of a trusting therapeutic relationship and will work alongside you as we explore your personal journey.
My first session
In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. I’ll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and personal goals, which will help guide our work together. This session also allows you to assess if my approach is the right fit for you.
Practical matters such as session length, fees, confidentiality, and cancellation policies will be discussed, and we will agree on a therapeutic contract to set clear expectations. I encourage you to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with in this initial session.
To make the process easier, I offer the first session at a reduced rate, giving you the opportunity to explore whether you would like to proceed with further sessions.
