About me and my therapy practice
I help adults with a wide range of problems and specialise in addictions, and people affected by those of others (family, partners, friends) including alcohol and substances (prescription and street drugs), chemsex, sex and pornography addiction and gambling.
I know what this is like, and how asking for help can seem so scary even though it is the very thing you want and need.
Since 2010, I have expertly supported and guided adults in a gentle way that is free from judgement, and open to diversity in all aspects of life. I offer a free telephone call so you can answer any questions and we can determine the best help for you.
I identify as a gay man and have helped many people from the LGBTQI+ / Gender, Sex, Relationship Diverse (GSRD) community. My work is restricted to adults (18+).
I encourage you to call for a free, no-obligation discussion so I can answer any questions that you might have.
Practice description
You are unique and so will your experience getting help from me. Psychotherapy and counselling is delivered in a safe, effective and compassionate way to gently help you reflect, express, and explore current and/or past experiences, feelings and emotions and helping you develop a more constructive relationship within yourself to improve your wellbeing and life experience. Coaching is more focused on helping you to identify and then set objectives for the future.
In addition to talking, and reflection, I also incorporate techniques such as meditation, visualisation, writing activities, and body work as alternative approaches to help enhance your development and help you develop your own skills and techniques to use outside of each appointment.
My first session
What happens during the first session will vary depending on your circumstances, and the reason why you are seeking help. One thing for certain is that I will not ask you to complete lots of forms or questionnaires - what I will do is provide a safe space for you to talk, and for me to listen in a non-judgmental manner. I truly believe that deep down, you know yourself how best to heal, and what actions might be needed, and I will be a gentle guide, and a facilitator, using a range of methods to help you move forward.Types of therapy

- Do you keep saying 'never again', and end up doing the same things despite not wanting to do them?
I know what this is like, and how asking for help can seem so scary even though it is the very thing you want and need.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor and a recovery coach. I graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma from the University College London in Psychosynthesis Counselling (2010). I have a particular interest in (but not restricted to) addiction, with over 20 years recovery myself. My recovery coaching professional training was with the Recovery Coach Academy. This includes helping people overcome problems of alcohol and substance use (including prescription and street drugs); chemsex; sex and porn addiction and gambling.
I identify as a gay man and have helped many people from the Gender, Sex, Relationship Diverse (GSRD) / LGBTQI+ community.
My work is restricted to adults (18+). I encourage you to call for a free 15-minute no-obligation discussion to answer any questions and find the best way to meet your needs.
Practice description
The way I work with people depends on whether it is for counselling or for recovery/sober coaching. The two approaches are explained on my website at www.WaysToSobriety.com My counselling work is not restricted to problems with alcohol, drugs, or specific behaviours. I am experienced in supporting people to explore a range of issues - these might be longstanding and even something you have sought help with in the past, or, perhaps something has happened in your life more recently that is causing you emotional/psychological distress.
I provide online and face-to-face appointments and try to be as flexible as possible to find the best time for you.
