MY THERAPY PRACTICE

My philosophy

I believe that past experiences impact how we are as a person and relate to others in the present, and that is through relationships that we heal. I facilitate a safe and accepting space for us to build a genuine and trusting relationship to help you connect to yourself more authentically. I focus on nurturing your potential and help you explore your feelings, needs, thoughts, and experiences, to increase your self-awareness which I believe can call forth positive change in your life.

I work holistically; which means that I consider the mind, emotions, body, and spirit as a whole, as I believe all aspects are interconnected.

My approach

As an integrative psychotherapist, I trained in the Clarkson Five Relationship framework which means I focus on the healing aspect of the counselling relationship; there is extensive research that demonstrates that a high-quality relationship predicts positive clinical outcomes, regardless of the approach.

My approach is collaborative and based on mutual understanding. I draw from different approaches which allows me to work flexibly with methods that suit you best, always taking your uniqueness as a person into account.

*Humanistic approaches: based on the belief that we all naturally have the potential to create the life we want, but sometimes difficult life experiences might block this ability. It’s all about self-exploration within a safe and non-judgmental space, focusing on nurturing our sense of self. (existential, person-centred, gestalt).

*Psychodynamic approaches: Focussed on the past and how these experiences impact the present and how unconscious beliefs still affect us today. Focusing on increasing your self-awareness to help you bring about change in yourself. Explores patterns of relating and coping strategies (attachment and relational based).

My rates are:

*£65 for a 50-minute session

*£90 for a 1 hr and 15-minute session

*Concessionary sessions.

My first session

I offer a free 20 to 30-minute consultation over the phone or video call to ask me any questions you might have about how I work, how our work together would look like, and get a sense of who I am to see if you want to work with me.

Normally we would meet on a weekly basis for 50 minutes, on the same day and at the same time. The frequency and length of sessions can be flexible in certain circumstances which we will discuss during the consultation.

After we agree to start working together, we will set a regular day and time. In our first session we will fill in an initial assessment form and discuss the counselling contract, where we will agree how to work together, and we will go through boundaries in order to ensure your safety and best practice. We will also discuss your goals and expectations from counselling and the length of therapy.

I offer regular reviews, which is a space for you to share how therapy has been working for you and any feedback you might have in order to make any necessary changes.

What I can help with

Abuse, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Neurodiversity, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
