About me and my therapy practice
I work with autism and masking, stress and anxiety, burnout, low mood, low self-esteem, LGB issues, boarding school survivors, family and relationship difficulties and more. I work relationally, and use a psychodynamic approach, offering in person and online sessions.
Put simply, this means that we will explore together the thoughts, feelings and emotions arising from past experiences and relationships, so that you can learn to deal with experiences and relationships differently in the future.
My rooms are in central Brighton, with easy access by public transport.
Practice description
Choosing to engage with therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important to find the right therapist for you.
I work relationally, and employ a psychodynamic approach. Exploring childhood memories and experiences, dreams, body language and fantasies, you will discover unconscious beliefs, feelings, and world views that have held you back. From here, we can find a path leading to greater self-understanding, acceptance and fulfilment in life.
We will work together for as long as appropriate to explore what you bring.
If this seems like a good fit for you, do get in touch. I offer a free 30 minute initial session. Thereafter, sessions last 50 minutes at £60 per session.
I work face-to-face and online.
Working with couples
Couples therapy is a dynamic process: what you get out of it depends on what you put in.
I offer therapy for couples in central Brighton on Thursday afternoons and evenings. I work with both opposite-sex and same-sex couples.
I can help with communication difficulties, infidelity (affairs), pregnancy/fertility/having children, Later Life (eg children leaving home) loss of sex drive, and more.
I use a range of exercises and interventions, as well as ‘talk therapy’, to help you identify and work with the blocks that may be impacting your relationship. I will not take sides, and will allow each partner to explore what they need to work through.
Couples Sessions are 75 minutes long and cost £100. Initially, we will work together for two sessions before deciding how to go forward.
My first session
For individuals, I offer an initial 30 minute session free of charge, in which we will discuss your current circumstances, the reasons for your seeking therapy at this time, and how the work might proceed. If we both agree that we want to work together, I will ask you to complete a short assessment form before we begin the work.
