About me and my therapy practice

I’m a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ). I work with adults, teenagers and children (11+). I can offer a confidential space where you can explore what you need, to help you move forward or find acceptance.

It’s nothing like talking to a friend or colleague or family member. As a neutral outsider, I won’t tell you what you should or should not do. I won’t tell you what I think you want to hear. I will share what I think is going on for you – you’re welcome to correct me. I won’t tiptoe around a topic; nor will I force you to share anything you do not feel ready to explore. We will go at your pace. I’ll walk alongside you, meeting you where you are with what you share, in hopes of helping you better understand yourself, your experiences, and your responses and how you navigate your own world.

My therapeutic experience includes working with Adults and Young People (11+) with a wide variety of difficulties including:

- anxiety + depression

- bullying

- work-related stress

- bereavement

- neurodiversity

- abuse + domestic violence

- cancer, terminal illness + end of life

-LGBTQ+

- self-harm + suicidal thoughts

- fertility

This list is not exhaustive - I am open to listen to what is challenging you, to work together towards positive change.

I am fully insured and DBS checked.

When I am not working, I love to spend time recharging in nature - whether that's a local woodland dog walk or camping adventures further afield.

Practice description

I work online (via Google Meet), by telephone and I offer Walk and Talk therapy sessions in the North Staffordshire area.

I can offer short-term or long-term therapy to suit your needs.

Person or client-centred therapy is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions. Rather than being seen as the expert and directing the therapy, the counsellor offers unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence to help you come to terms with any negative feelings and to change and develop in your own way.

My first session

Once you make contact, I can offer you a brief (15 minute) phone call, where you can ask questions and share briefly what has brought you to therapy.

We will then agree a mutually convenient time for your first appointment, and I will text you the details and email the counselling agreement.

Please be aware that I will not leave you a message unless you let me know this is ok to do so.
