About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced humanistic counsellor who is passionate about supporting you to explore what brings you to therapy. At the heart of my approach is building a trusting, honest and open relationship with my clients to enable to the most successful of therapeutic journeys.
Whether you are feeling trapped by anxiety, overwhelmed with grief or stuck in a toxic relationship, I can help you to navigate these difficult feelings and emotions, find your true sense of self again and rediscover the clarity you may have lost.
I have a private practice in Lewes where I will provide you with a calm space and experience of working with a varied client base. I work in a person-centred way which means through support, I believe you have the ability to make the positive changes you need and with a humanistic approach my focus is on you as a unique individual.
My specialist areas are working with short and long-term ill health, such as MS / Chronic fatigue, with a particular interest in supporting cancer patients and their families. I am also experienced and have an interest in working with those affected by bereavement and loss.
I do, however, offer support for a full range of issues, some of which include:
Anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, trauma, abuse, gambling, self-esteem, family issues and life changes.
Working together we can move through or overcome your challenges, enabling greater control over which path to follow next.
Practice description
Alongside my private practice I work for the NHS at Sussex Cancer Centre supporting cancer patients and their families through diagnosis, treatment and beyond. I am also a counsellor at Sussex MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Centre in Brighton and have experience at a low cost community counselling service in Newhaven and as a bereavement counsellor at St. Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne.
I am qualified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which can be used to help accept difficult life experiences as they happen and build a more compassionate relationship with these challenging experiences.
Additional training I have completed includes Transactional Analysis (TA101), anxiety, trauma, suicide, complex grief, self-harm and gambling addiction.
My first session
