Sessions from £70.00

Availability

I currently have some availability for online & phone sessions.

My working days are Monday - Thursday, 10am - 6pm and I aim to respond to all enquiries within 2 working days.

I am based in London, but work with clients from all over the UK.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Claire and I'm a qualified person-centred counsellor, working with adults. I work online (Zoom or other secure video platform) and on the telephone, and have undertaken specialist training to enable me to work in these ways.

This way of working makes counselling more accessible, as we are not limited by our geographical location or a need to travel to & from sessions, and means that those who are unable to attend face to face sessions can access therapy.

Are you feeling anxious or struggling?

  • This could be through a bereavement, or difficulties in a relationship;
  • Perhaps health issues such as chronic illness, disability or menopause have affected how you are feeling;
  • Maybe work is causing you stress, or you have been made redundant.

Do you feel misunderstood or not heard?

  • Maybe you don’t have somewhere you feel supported to be yourself and to speak freely;
  • Perhaps you feel like you don't have anyone to talk to who understands;
  • You may need a place to be heard and to explore your feelings.

How can I help?

  • I offer a warm, non-judgmental, and empathic space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings and work through your experiences;
  • This can help develop your self-awareness and confidence;
  • I can support you in finding acceptance of what has happened in your life, or in making changes.

Practice description

No matter what your situation is, counselling can provide a space which is confidential, supportive and affirming so that you can work through what matters to you at the pace that suits you, to help you through even the most difficult times.

As a person-centred therapist, I won’t direct you or give you advice. This way of working holds you at the centre, in the belief that only you are the expert in what is right for you. Guided by you, together we can look at and work through what is troubling you.

I've been in therapy myself, and I understand that it's not always easy to make the first step and approach a counsellor. I try to make this as straightforward and reassuring as possible.

Although each person’s situation is unique, some of the many issues I work with include:

  • bereavement and other losses;
  • exploring gender, sex and relationship diversity, and offering an affirming approach to LGBTQ+ clients;
  • chronic illness and disability;
  • relationship issues;
  • the impact of the pandemic and COVID-19.

My first session

I believe it is important that you find a therapist who you feel understands you and with whom you feel comfortable and safe to share what is troubling you.

I offer an introductory, no-obligation 25-minute session, either by phone or on Zoom, to help you decide whether I might be suitable for you. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have and to see how you feel talking to me.

This introductory session can be a chance to briefly describe what brings you to counselling, discuss how the sessions work and for me to answer any other queries.

I will also assess my own competence to work with the issues you want to discuss. If I feel I am not the right counsellor for you, I will endeavour to signpost you to a more suitable service.

This session is 25 minutes, for which there is a charge of £35.
