About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Leonie, and I am a fully qualified psychotherapist. I offer a warm, empathetic space for clients to process what is happening and has happened in their lives. I encourage clients to speak to me as openly as possible 鈥 I am non-judgemental and am always keen to hear exactly what clients hope for in therapy.

I help people with many different struggles. Some people are struggling with depression and /or anxiety, some have had traumatic experiences, a bereavement, or are struggling in their relationships. Others may not identify with having mental health struggles at all but may feel a bit 鈥榮tuck鈥, perhaps unhappy at work or unsure about the direction of their life. I suppose the common thread between all the people I work with is that each person is hoping for some kind of change.

I work from a relational 'Gestalt' perspective. Gestalt does not preach an ultimate 鈥渨ay to be healthy鈥, rather, seeing 鈥榙ysfunctional鈥 elements of our patterns in life as 鈥榗reative adjustments鈥 that have developed for a good reason. Through building a sense of curiosity and awareness of our unique ways of being in the world / being in relationships with others, we can broaden our choices around these ways of being. Then we can begin to subtly shift and change the patterns that are no longer working for us.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Leonie, and I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist (MSc). I offer a warm, empathetic space for clients to process what is happening and has happened in their lives. I encourage clients to speak to me as openly as possible 鈥 I am non-judgemental and am always keen to hear exactly what clients hope for in therapy.

I work from a relational 'Gestalt' perspective. What drew me personally to Gestalt, was its holism. Gestalt does not preach an ultimate 鈥渨ay to be healthy鈥, rather, seeing 鈥榙ysfunctional鈥 elements of our patterns in life as 鈥榗reative adjustments鈥 that have developed for a good reason. Through building a sense of curiosity and awareness of our unique ways of being in the world / being in relationship with others, we can broaden our choices around these ways of being. Then we can begin to subtly shift and change the patterns that are no longer working for us.

I initially trained as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, then later completed an MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute in London.

Practice description
