About me and my therapy practice

Welcome, I'm Elena. Lots of profiles aren't there?

I specialise in Anxiety, Childhood and Adult Trauma, Attachment, Relationship issues and Depression, Perfectionism all- or nothing thinking, lack of confidence, people pleasing and struggling maintain healthy boundaries, ADHD, OCD.

I am a passionate person who believes we all have the right to be seen, heard and understood as unique individuals, excepted for what we are, I believe every person has inner potential to reach and be whatever they feel is right for them, at their own pace. To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else.

Many people feel uncertain about counselling as they are not sure what it is or how it can help and It takes a lot of courage to take that first step, I am UK qualified an Integrative counsellor who is going to be alongside you during the difficult times providing a safe space for you to explore these things because- The mind is like water when it’s turbulent, it’s difficult to see, when it’s calm everything become clear.

As a counsellor I believe in working with the whole person both past, present and future to help identify your emotional needs. I work from a humanistic core, which means that I keep you at the centre of our work. However, I do not believe that therapy is a one-size-fits-all process.

Maybe you are managing to function, but struggling to cope?

It can help to talk freely and confidentially with someone whose life and relationships are separate from yours. With impartial help and support, to express yourself and review your beliefs and decisions, you will be able to clarify your thoughts and feelings. It can then become easier to make sense of what is happening. I offer a warm, non-judgemental and empathetic space to support you on your journey of deeper understanding, with compassion for whatever has brought you here.

Practice description

Change and choice can be challenging and deciding to enter into counselling can be one of the most difficult steps we ever take and I am aware it can be hard to look for the right help at the right time, to find the counsellor that is the best 'fit' for you. My training to degree level, is in Humanistic integrative counselling which means I can use several different counselling approaches and theories. This makes it easier to be flexible, to work at a pace that suits you and to find the unique path that feels right for you.

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear. Everyone has experienced a feeling of anxiety at some point because it's a natural human response when we feel that we are under threat. It can be experienced through our thoughts, feelings and physical sensations and affect our lives on a daily basis due to the impact of a strong inner critic or guilt as a result of difficult issues may stem from childhood abuse, neglect or bullying, or negative experiences which prevent you to from living a more meaningful life.

I introduce some approaches what would help to understand how past experience impacting your present time, and will enhanced your understanding and build a positive relationship with self and others, identifying the root causing of your anxiety and enable to reduce its power by reconnecting your mind with your thoughts, feelings and your physical response to those feelings so you can become a more wholesome you that you can live your life with it rather than be governed by- all these approaches only would be introduced in appropriate time following your pace to maintain ethics and safe space.
