About me and my therapy practice

My name is Patricia-Anne, and I am a pluralistic counsellor, supervisor and mindfulness teacher with over 20 years experience working in the public and charity sectors.

I offer warm, open support and guidance to help you with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationships, bereavement, alcohol and substance misuse.

Practice description

When we feel sad or anxious and life seems hard to get through, it helps to talk to someone about how we feel. Sometimes it is easier to talk to a counsellor who will listen with empathy and without judgment, who you can trust to be there for you and help you to find a sense of wellbeing and inner strength.

At the heart of my counselling is the belief that the client and therapist work in close collaboration on goals and tasks using a wide range of techniques and practices. This personal tailored service means that you discover what will help you best while being supported and guided. I offer a confidential space in which you will be listened to with empathy and non-judgment to help you find an improved sense of wellbeing and be empowered to make positive changes.

I am also an addictions counsellor. If you are close to someone who uses alcohol or drugs, counselling can help you to understand your own feelings and concerns. It can help to talk to someone about this in confidence. Having someone to listen and understand what you are going through can make all the difference.

Alcohol and or drugs may be present in your life to help you deal with difficult issues. If you wish to reduce or stop, we can work together to help you develop skills and techniques to work towards behaviour change. Counselling can help you use your own inner resources to cope with the issues you are facing.

My first session

An initial assessment appointment is arranged to begin with so we can meet one another and get a sense of how we will work together towards meaningful change.
