About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative psychotherapist, experienced in working with a variety of issues such an anxiety, low mood, stress, bereavement, and relationship issues. I hold a Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from University of Roehampton.
My psychotherapy practice is a safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and attended to.
As an Integrative psychotherapist I work across several key modalities, blending together aspects of humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapy. My approach is uniquely tailored to support each individual’s process of growth and change. I am here to listen, and to help you to listen to yourself and facilitate a deeper understanding of what it is that is bothering you, or keeping you stuck, so that you can move forward with renewed confidence and self-compassion.
I believe my background in English literature and my love of stories has enriched my psychotherapy learning. Through immersing ourselves in another’s story we develop empathy and the ability to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes. I am continuously fascinated and moved by the resilience of the human spirit and our ability to overcome deep suffering.
Practice description
Everyone has their own story to tell, and their own struggles to make sense of. Engaging in a therapeutic relationship means being an active participant in your own story. You are the agent of change, and I am here to hold, support, and contain the difficult parts of your process. Together, we explore what it is that is holding you back, and with new insight and understanding, you can rebuild yourself as the person you truly are.
Therapy will help you to change unhelpful ways of relating to others, break destructive patterns of behaviour, and understand how your past has shaped you. It will increase your self-awareness and help you to approach life’s difficulties and challenges with resilience and a stronger sense of self.
Part of the work is being listened to and heard, in a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space. We will work at a pace that is comfortable for you, and regularly check in on your therapeutic goals.
My first session
I offer both short and long-term sessions, depending on your needs.
If you feel you might like to work with me, I offer a brief introductory 15-20 minute phone call that is free of charge to tell you a bit more about myself and how I work.
We may decide to arrange an initial session, which is a chance for you to reflect on what you hope to gain from therapy, and why now is the best time for you. It's also an opportunity for us both to get to know each other a bit more and see if we might be a good fit. There is no obligation to continue beyond this session.
The pace is always led by you, and you may leave therapy at any time. The sessions will take place at the same time and day every week. Sessions are 50 minutes.
