About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. There may be many different reasons why you are here.
Deciding to begin therapy and finding the right therapist can feel daunting. Particularly when life feels tough or unbearable. It is important to find the right therapist for you, someone you feel comfortable with.
I believe our early experiences and relationships often shape how we view ourselves, our relationships with others and can influence how we live our lives. Often during times of challenge, loss, change or trauma we may find we struggle to manage life as perhaps we did before and wonder why. Coming to therapy offers a chance to explore what it means to be you and your unique experiences, within a safe and confidential space.
It can be deeply enriching but does require commitment and effort whether coming for shorter or more longer term therapy. There may be times where it feels challenging or painful as we encounter aspects of ourselves previously hidden or denied. Ultimately, therapy can be a chance to gain insight and understanding, to make changes and experience deeper and more meaningful connections with self, within our relationships and lives as a whole.
I work with adults and young people over 16 years - Face to face from the centre of Taunton or online.
Being able to feel comfortable with a therapist is, I feel, of high importance to the process of therapy. Therefore, I will seek to meet with you for an initial session before deciding to go ahead. This gives you the chance to think about whether to work with me and if we decide I am not the right therapist for you, I am happy to refer or signpost to someone I feel may be more suitable.
