About me and my therapy practice

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ

I offer Psychotherapy and Counselling using a relational approach. My primary mode of therapy is Transactional Analysis (TA), which incorporates a number of schools of therapy, all with the aim of facilitating change. Your needs are kept front and centre in the therapy at all times. I may, on occasion, offer psychoeducation (use recognised models and activities to aid self-reflection or help build healthy coping strategies).

I aim to provide you, the client, with a confidential opportunity to explore personal and relational issues in safety. My role is to help you through this process, without judgement, to facilitate change. During therapy, we will agree goals. Goals may be reviewed and changed as we come to a greater understanding of the issues that you face;  I will only work within my own areas of competence.

I have been in private practice for 8 years  and worked for The Youth Counselling Project for around 5 years. I have experience working with relationship difficulties and a variety of mental health concerns. E.g. Anxiety, depression, panic disorders, OCD, PTSD, trauma, self harm, dysphoria and a range of other conditions. I am dyslexic and I have taken a keen interest in the challenges that those with neurodiversity face, with regards their mental health and wellbeing. I strive to make my sessions an inclusive space, where people can find acceptance and empathy.

Practice description

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ

I work with Adults and Adolescents in one to one therapy. This can be face to face or online. Sessions are 50 minutes.

I also offer family, couples and group therapy.  Family sessions are 1 hour 15 minutes. and group sessions are 2 hours. My therapy groups focus on working with those struggling with anxiety.

My first session

I offer and introductory 30 minute free session, so that you can meet me and see if you feel I would be a good fit for you. I will talk to you about the sessions, answer any questions you might have and gather some information about why you are seeking help. I will also give you a copy of my counselling contract to take away with you. This gives you further information about the sessions and GDPR.

In your first full session , we will talk about your goals and I may ask you to complete a short assessment, depending on your reasons for seeking counselling. Often in the first session you may want to take time to tell me your story, so that I can get to know you and the difficulties that you face.
