About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist working with clients via an online platform. I work, compassionately, supportively, empathetically, and professionally.
I firmly believe that above all else, a quality alliance is the foundation for all therapeutic work. I warmly welcome you and will hold a safe, non-judgemental space for you to be curious, and to explore those areas which are important to you.
Practice description
I am a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by their ethical frameworks and hold all relevant professional insurance cover. Additionally, I am Cigna insurance affiliated.
I trained and practise as a person-centred, integrative counsellor utilising various modalities to support individual clients' needs. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional which means I work in a trauma informed way. I have also just completed trainings in Internal Family Systems Therapy.
I have a First Class Master’s Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am committed to continued professional development, ensuring knowledge and flexibility in the most up-to-date research and interventions. Some of the most recent courses I have completed are working with complex trauma, working with displaced people, mediation for resolution, childhood sexual abuse; the body keeps the score and Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry in Action.
For the past year, I have mainly specialised in trauma work supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence and rape using trauma models, cross cutting and inclusive of gender related issues.
Additionally, I have been working in the support of individuals with a variety of issues, including PTSD, as well as other coping strategies, which have developed into self-harming behaviours, such as the misuse of drugs and alcohol, as well as disordered eating.
