About me and my therapy practice

I am a certified Person-Centred counsellor and CBT therapist, with additional training in trauma therapy, and also offering rewind therapy. My background also includes both training and experience in the areas of Mental Health, and Bereavement. I offer support, working closely to suit your needs, with either one or a mixture of the modalities. This is something we can discuss together sensitively to ensure you get the best out of your sessions.

Previous experience includes working with clients at the Swan Women’s Centre, and Ormskirk Bereavement Service. I currently work for a large organisation alongside my private practice; working with those who have experienced adult and or childhood trauma, work related stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship breakdowns, chronic illness, OCD, self-harm, phobias, confidence, and self-esteem.

I don’t believe in a one size fit’s all approach, I am very passionate in providing the most appropriate talking therapy, tools, techniques, and coping strategies suited to you. I have a genuine desire to understand you for you, helping you to heal with the correct support in place and being fully committed to your journey.

I have all of the relevant insurance in place, GDPR compliant, and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

Practice description

Making that step towards change takes great courage. It is with this understanding that I provide a safe and confidential space, offering the support most appropriate to your needs.

Our work together will enable you to have a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This will give you an insight into who you really are, helping you to work towards personal freedom. Promoting a respectful, patient, and warming approach, I aim to help you to feel safe whilst working at a pace best suited to you.

Face to face counselling sessions are provided in the therapy rooms, it is a welcoming and private space, and anonymous too. Online and home visits are available on request.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute conversation by phone, to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you. We can discuss your hopes and expectations, how we may work together, and it will give us both a chance to talk through any questions you may have.
