Availability

I currently work Monday-Friday, but try to arrange my hours around client availability, as finding therapy that fits in with with a busy daily life can be difficult. I currently have some availability and recommend contacting me via email to schedule a time that is mutually convenient. I work remotely.

About me and my therapy practice

Special Interests: I usually work with people who have experienced trauma in some way including, domestic and sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship problems, low self-esteem and confidence or problems at work. I spent some time working with loved ones and families affected by suicide bereavement and have shared many journeys with clients experiencing this kind of sudden loss. I am interested in the way change and growth occurs, in particular how the idea of neuroplasticity (the brains capacity to continue growing and evolving in response to life experiences) might unlock a client's ability to change repetitive, unhelpful behavioural patterns and establish new and more useful behaviours

Practice description

I work from a Person-Centred, humanistic, trauma informed perspective, although my background in Health and Fitness influences a more ‘whole body’ approach to wellbeing. I focus on life goals, self-awareness, and personal understanding to encourage self-acceptance and a more regulated emotional response to negative events and feelings.

My first session

Our first session is really about getting to know each other a little and establishing whether we feel that we are able to work together. I usually complete an assessment with my client's,  this helps confirm what has brought them to therapy, what their expectations, understanding of therapy and goals might be. I feel that working through an assessment assists us both in establishing whether we would be a 'good fit', as I firmly believe that it is our ability to develop a good working relationship, that will determine its outcome.
