About me and my therapy practice

I offer convenient online therapy sessions designed to support you and your family through challenges such as teen anxiety or depression, parental stress, and family dynamics:

Anxiety and Depression in Teens:  Many families face the tough realities of a teen struggling with these issues, which can lead to confusion and stress.

Parental Stress:  Balancing work and family responsibilities often leaves parents feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, unsure of how to cope with the demands of daily life.

Family Transitions: Changes like welcoming a new baby or adjusting to shifts in family roles can create tension and require emotional support.

Self-Esteem Issues: Concerns about self-worth can affect both parents and children, leading to a cycle of anxiety and insecurity within the family.

Challenges for Parent Caregivers: Parent caregivers often experience unique stressors, including the emotional and physical demands of caring for children with disabilities or chronic health conditions.

Support for Children with Disabilities or Chronic Health Issues: These children may face additional emotional and social challenges.

Supporting Children and Teens (Aged 11 and Up)

I provide a supportive online environment for children and teens aged 11 and older, focusing on:

Safe Spaces for Sharing: Encouraging open communication and validating their feelings to foster emotional growth.

Coping Skills Development: Working on practical strategies for managing emotions and building resilience in the face of challenges.

Supporting Parents’ Mental Health

It's essential for parents to prioritise their mental well-being. In our sessions, we will focus on:

Understanding Your Emotions: Acknowledging the unique pressures you face and how they impact your daily life.

Developing Coping Strategies: Identifying practical tools and techniques to manage stress and enhance your resilience.

Encouraging Self-Care: Supporting you in finding ways to nurture your own well-being amidst the demands of parenting.

Practice description

As a qualified therapist with a degree in counselling psychology and currently pursuing a doctoral degree in the same field, I employ a person-centred approach as the core foundation of my practice. Additionally, I draw on a wider range of modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic approaches, and mindfulness techniques, to provide tailored support that meets your needs. With extensive experience supporting content creators, new parents, adolescents, and families navigating unique challenges, I am dedicated to helping you thrive.

I am a qualified Person-Centred and Experiential Counsellor (PCET), with a BSc in Counselling Psychology and a Diploma in Person-Centred and Experiential Counselling. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, expected to complete in 2026. Upon completion, I will be a qualified Counselling Psychologist, further enhancing my ability to provide comprehensive and effective therapeutic support.

My first session

The first session with me actually consists of two parts, designed to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as we embark on this journey together.

1. Initial Call/Meeting (Free of Charge): After your enquiry, we will organise a brief call or online meeting, lasting up to 20 minutes. During this time, we’ll touch upon what brings you to therapy, any previous experiences you may have had, and your hopes and goals for our work together. We’ll also discuss confidentiality, boundaries, availability, and fees. This initial conversation helps us determine if we’re a good fit for one another.

2. First Full Session (Charged):  If we feel that we’re well-matched, we’ll formalise our agreement, and I will provide details about the full session fee, which is payable to confirm the appointment. In this session, we’ll delve deeper into your needs, refine our goals for therapy, and create a tailored plan moving forward. This comprehensive assessment will help guide our work together, ensuring that our sessions are aligned with your specific circumstances and aspirations.

By the end of this process, I aim to provide you with a clear understanding of how we can work together to support your mental well-being. I look forward to our conversations and the opportunity to help you navigate your challenges.
