Availability

I have some availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday daytime, online from anywhere, or face to face in Stroud. Working online offers a little more flexibility, so just let me know if you have a specific time in mind.

About me and my therapy practice

I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor, available during the day online, or in person in Stroud, in a confidential therapy room or 'walk and walk' therapy.

Perhaps you have a sense of being stuck and are unsure which direction to turn. You may be facing any combination of relationship problems, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and loss. Managing these inevitable parts of life can be alarming and frightening. Compassionate and open-minded therapeutic support, beyond friends or family, can help you to see your way through. When we work together, your well-being and experiences are the most important things to me. I listen to, respect and cherish your uniqueness, explore what is contributing to your discomfort and how you would like to live. I am curious about your experiences and responsive to your needs.

Whatever challenges you are facing, I offer an empathic, non-judgmental and supportive space. Being person-centred and trauma-informed, I value your whole self and what you choose to bring to our sessions, working at your pace. I believe our childhood relationships and experiences can shape our ongoing understanding of ourselves and the world, so I also draw on psychodynamic and attachment therapy approaches to understand links between your past and present, and what changes it is possible for you to make.

Therapy is a collaborative process and the relationship we create is crucial in working together to understand what’s challenging you, what relational patterns you may have outgrown and wish to change, and explore how to take steps towards a fuller, more authentic life. I trust deeply that you have the knowledge within you and I would be honoured to help navigate the ups and downs alongside you, supporting you to reconnect with your body, yourself and those around you.

I offer weekly 50 minute sessions at the same time each week, on a long-term open-ended basis, or shorter-term (up to 6 months) if you prefer. We would keep our work together under review.

Practice description

I have experience working with relationship difficulties, relational trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-worth, abuse and loss.

I hold a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ-accredited Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre (September 2020), a leading integrative therapy training institute. My training and experience enables me to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches (relational, humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment, body). One size certainly doesn't fit all and so I adapt the way I work to your unique needs.

Alongside my private practice, I provide low-cost counselling services at The Listening Post in Stroud, and previously at Help Counselling and the Minster Centre’s Psychotherapy and Counselling Service in London. I have earlier career experience advocating for refugees, asylum seekers and people in need of support from public services.

As a registered member of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, I adhere to its Ethical Framework and Professional Occupational Standards, including continuing my professional development and undertaking regular supervision and training.

My first session

Making the decision to find the right therapist for you can be both daunting and exciting. It is a huge step towards better understanding of yourself.

After you contact me, if you would like a short phone or Zoom call we can arrange this free of charge, to give you an initial sense of whether you are comfortable to go ahead.

We can then arrange an initial 50 minute assessment session, online or in person, where I will ask you some questions to better understand your background, significant relationships, life experiences and current challenges, as well as how you would like to live. The assessment session is a very much a two-way process, helping to get a feel for whether we would like to carry on working together. It's an opportunity to understand what brings you to therapy, and whether you would like to work online, face to face in a confidential therapy room, or perhaps walking and talking outdoors. We can discuss your hopes, fears, expectations and any other questions you might have about the process. I would take some notes in the assessment session, and destroy these confidentially if you chose not to proceed. You would also then have space to consider whether I am the right therapist for you. This session is a reduced rate of £50.
