About me and my therapy practice
Specialist in bereavement counselling and in supporting neurodivergent people (Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, OCD, Dyspraxic, Dyslexic).
Feeling overwhelmed? Struggling to be heard? You are not alone. As a kind and gentle therapist, I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you will be listened to and understood. I am here to help you navigate your thoughts and feelings and to assist in developing coping strategies, whether you are dealing with grief, anxiety, the challenges of living as a neurodivergent individual (diagnosed or self diagnosed), or other difficult or distressing issues.
I'm an integrative therapist, which means that I combine different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of each individual client. We're all unique, and you are the expert in your own life, so I offer a holistic and person-centred approach which emphasises collaboration and mutual respect.
My friendly and affectionate dog Bella will be alongside us in the therapy room, or walking with us on outdoor therapy. There are many therapeutic benefits to working with a therapy dog, for instance their presence has been shown to lower heart rate, increase the production of oxytocin and reduce stress, and clients have said that her being there helps when exploring difficult emotions and thoughts.
Practice description
I know that one size does not fit everyone all of the time, so I'm flexible in how you can access therapy with me.
Whether you prefer:
Face-to-face sessions in my cosy counselling room
Outdoor therapy where we walk (or sit) in nature
Online sessions via Zoom
Flexible email therapy which works well for those who find it easier or safer to express themselves through written words, or who sometimes find it difficult to talk or process emotions and thoughts straight away.
I can meet you in a way that best suits your needs and resources on the day.
My first session
Going to a first session with a therapist can be daunting, but I understand. I create a warm and comforting space for you to explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. We will discuss your goals and collaboratively decide if we're a good fit to work together.
This 50 minute session is charged at a reduced price of £40.
If there is anything I can do, or any accommodations I can make, that would make you more at ease in your first session, please just ask.
