Hello, 

I currently have availability for clients who are experiencing  trauma, relationships difficulties, anxiety  and who may be feeling lost in life.

I am happy to work as flexibility as needed to meet clients needs regarding session times where my availability allows.  

I also offer a free half an hour initial consultation so you can get a sense of who I am, and if you would feel comfortable with me going forward. 

I aim to respond to emails, texts or voicemails within 24 hours, unless on a weekend to which I will reply on a Monday.

Hi there, I’m Sam. Finding the right therapist for yourself is so important when exploring  therapy. This why I give a free half hour consultation, to briefly explore your reasons for wanting therapy and to enable you to decide, how comfortable you feel, when talking to me

I can help you gently explore and help with a number of differing feelings that you may be experiencing. For instance :-

Do  you feel like no on understands you? Or feel disconnect from friends and family, feeling like you don’t fit in? 

Do you feel like you are always there for everyone else but don’t seem to be getting anything back in your relationships?

Explore and get an understanding how your past experiences are influencing your present

Break the cycle of unhealthy relationships and begin to feel more confident if knowing the relationships you want and do not want

Develop new, healthier ways to cope with stress and emotional pain.

Practice description

I can offer both remote video and face to face session depending upon your preference. 

I work visually, so I work best by seeing my clients which is why I do not provide telephone counselling. However I am happy to provide initial telephone counselling to work towards remote or face to face if you feel uncomfortable initially with video counselling.  

I work in a relaxed and down to earth way. I will always have a cup of coffee by my side and if seeing me face to face you will always be offered a drink too.  

I also offer an free initial 1/2 hour  consultation by telephone, so you are able to bring your reasons for wanting counselling (which you may not be aware of initially) and any questions you may have.  I provide weekly session either long term or in 6 weekly blocks for clients who prefer shorter term counselling. This can be reviewed at any time and be extended if required.

My first session

After contacting me, we will arrange a 1/2 telephone appointment. I will then email you a Counselling Agreement outlining the counselling relationship to create a safe and mutually agreeable relationship from the very start of counselling.

 In the first session I invite out to tell me more about your reasons for wanting counselling, what counselling looks like for you and your expectations of it and what you hope to gain.  

I will invite you to complete an Emotional Wellbeing Form.  This helps both of us to better understand areas of possible needs and also provide an opportunity to discuss areas and answers which may you may not have been aware of before.

The first session is information gathering and an opportunity for you to talk about what is troubling you.
