About me and my therapy practice

Are you finding life challenging and sometimes overwhelming?

Perhaps you are struggling with bereavement, abandonment, problematic relationships, difficult current and/or past experiences.  Maybe you are struggling with issues connected with your faith.

Most people, at some point in their lives, struggle with painful feelings.  You may feel low, anxious, confused, helpless, distressed or angry, sometimes without knowing why.

Counselling is not just for supporting people through a specific crisis. Many people come to counselling to explore and get a better understanding of themselves and their lives.

Whatever you are experiencing, it can be difficult to explain how we feel to the people who are closest to us. Sometimes it is easier to talk to someone who is separate from your everyday life.

Working in a calm, safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space I could help you  work through difficult feelings, challenging situations and envisage a more hopeful future.

From personal experience, I know how reaching out and working through uncomfortable thoughts and feelings takes courage, yet doing so can be the start of a journey to living a more fulfilled life.

Practice description

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic.  Through the development of a relationship built on trust, I could help you explore how past experiences may be influencing how you engage with current difficulties.  Also, what may be keeping you stuck in unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour.  Applying this insight may help you review how you relate to yourself and others, how you approach individuals or situations and re-consider current and future choices.

Working on an open-ended basis, will allow you to progress at a pace that suits you, without the pressure of a limited timescale.

As an experienced counsellor, I have worked therapeutically with adults from diverse backgrounds and range of emotional difficulties.  In addition to offering private counselling service, I have 7 years experience and continue to work in various voluntary sector organisation, supporting vulnerable clients with a range of mental health challenges.

Committed to continued professional development, I work within the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ ethical guidelines, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

In addition to working within a calm and comfortable therapy room, I offer both online and outdoors therapy.

I work with individuals 18 years and over.
