I live in North Devon and work in person and online. I some available sessions and will work with you to find a time that works for both of us if possible.
About me and my therapy practice
My practice is dedicated to supporting women navigating challenging life events and transitions. I have a particular interest in helping families affected by historical abuse, illness, accidents, loss, infertility, divorce, and more. Who supports you when a child or partner is ill, dying, or recovering? Perhaps your own or your partner's history is impacting family life. Maybe your family dynamics make it difficult to explore issues around gender identity. I understand that even everyday routines, free from traumatic events, can bring anxiety, exhaustion, or disorientation. New motherhood, parenting, loss of intimacy, menopause, singleness, and empty nest syndrome are just a few examples.
I believe we all deserve to experience the world in our unique way. You might already be on this journey and need encouragement to continue, or maybe life's everyday challenges are obscuring your path. It's often difficult to recognize our personal resources and potential. Therapy can help you uncover and embrace your uniqueness.
Your experiences are valid, seeking help is the first step toward healing. In discovering and validating our uniqueness, we unlock the potential needed to thrive. I would be honored to work with you to navigate this path and support your journey toward a more fulfilling life.
Practice description
I initially work weekly. I feel that helps establish a good working relationship. As a Psychosynthesis Counsellor, I often work with imagination, stories, drawing, and guided imagery, believing that they facilitate a gentle connection to our intuition, allowing new insights to emerge and facilitate change. I am equally understanding of the need to simply talk and be listened to with empathy. I can draw on a variety of approaches to help you find new perspectives. If you are comfortable with mindfulness-based meditation I often use this as both a platform from which to view present or past painful emotions and as a tool to take into everyday life.
Areas I can help with include:
- addictions
- ADHD
- anger
- anxiety
- bereavement
- depression
- disabilities
- eating disorders
- grief
- phobias
- relationships
- trauma
My first session
This session is a little different, and I may ask more questions as we find out about what brings you to therapy and your own unique story. It's also a chance for you to ask questions about what our sessions might be like. All this may take more than one session.
It is also a chance for us both to see if we can work together. This may be something you need to take away and consider. If you are comfortable, a phone call or email exchange helps us set up times, venue and agree on a timeframe to work together.
