At present, I have some availability for remote counselling sessions; online and by telephone on a Tuesday. I also offer face-to-face practice in central Manchester on weekdays.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist registered with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, and I currently provide face-to-face counselling sessions in St Ann's Square, as well as remote sessions online and by telephone.
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Psychology. My background is in education, where I have acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and learning disabilities.
In recent years, I have gained further experience within the NHS, working directly with clients suffering from bereavement and/or fertility issues.
One of my main goals in therapy is to provide every client with a safe space to bring, process and explore their concerns, issues and feelings. I understand that reaching out for support can be difficult, as well as how beginning therapy can be disconcerting. However, as part of my role as the counsellor, I aim to ensure that this process is as comfortable as possible, and you feel supported and at ease.
Practice description
In my practice, I believe it is important to recognise that all individuals experience life events and mental health problems very differently, and no experience is the same. As a person centred therapist, I offer a non-directive approach, whereby the therapeutic space gives you the opportunity to discuss your internal world openly.
My experience includes working with client's that have experienced anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship problems, abuse, pregnancy loss, fertility issues and substance abuse or misuse. I work with a varied range of issues, including religious deconstruction and abuse.
My first session
Initially, I offer a free 15-minute consultation online or by telephone. This provides you with the chance to bring any queries or questions you may have, and to give me an idea of what your goals and expectations are from counselling.
Subsequently, once we both agree to work together, I deliver 50-minute sessions, whereby we will review the number of sessions needed and wanted accordingly.
Types of therapy
Brief therapy, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred
Clients I work with
Adults, EAP, Older adults, Trainees
