About me and my therapy practice

I provide support for young people and adults in one-one sessions.

I provide support for couples.

I also work with Counselling students.

My way of working with you:

I am an Integrative Relational Psychotherapist.

This means I can adapt my approach to your needs in a meaningful way. The relational aspect places our therapeutic relationship at the core of our work, a powerful force for change.

How I may support you:

I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low-mood, relationships issues, domestic abuse, bullying, men’s issues, self esteem, sexual and gender identity, loneliness amongst other emotional experiences.

You may personally experience one or more of these issues, or life simply feels less than OK.

Together, you and I can, work through the difficulties making sense of your situation, enabling you to make a meaningful emotional shift for life to feel more wholesome.

We may often put on a public face that conceals how we really feel.

I can help untangle the troubling problems, which often force us to hide that innermost true self. This can lead to better relationships with ourselves and others, and a more authentic way of being.

These problems may often feel unmanageable on our own.

I am by your side, with you all the way without judgement, but with empathy, openness and respect.

I have been described as supportive, caring, compassionate and good humoured.

Couples Therapeutic Support:

Often the individuals in the relationship can resolve the differences by themselves and live fulfilling lives together.

At times however, the differences feel irreconcilable. The relationship feels complicated. The arrival of children to the family unit may contribute further to the difficulties.

Couples counselling provides a non-judgemental, non-partisan space to explore how each partner may learn to:

communicate differently and effectively

understand the relational dynamics

become more authentic in expressing own needs

learn helpful ways to better manage the relationship

I offer a complementary 30minute phone consultation to discuss your needs.

I could also describe my work and address any concerns you may have. This way we'd be able to assess if we are right for each other. It's important for you to get the therapeutic support that you feel you need, as all therapy is first and foremost about you and those needs!

Once we decide to work together we will either meet for sessions In-person, Online or by Phone, or sometimes a mix of these settings to adapt to your needs.

For in-person sessions, I invite you to my practice, a welcoming and comfortable place, easily located in Bagshot, near Camberley, Surrey.

At the outset of our work, we will focus on identifying your counselling goals and expectations, and the therapeutic support plan, allowing you to achieve this.

We will also review the progress against these goals at regular intervals throughout our work to ensure the support you receive remains relevant.

You can expect from me unconditional respect for you and acceptance of your situation. I will listen with active curiosity and sensitivity.

I will strive for us to build that trusting therapeutic relationship,  working collaboratively with you throughout.

We will explore together the challenges you may be confronted with while being emotionally present with you always.

In this manner we will discover ways to address your troubles and  alternative ways of being , allowing the emotional shift you may be seeking.

My first session

We will have already discussed your needs and how we may work together during the initial consultation and, therefore we will commence our work already in the first session as I also value your time.

It takes much courage to even begin to attend a therapy session, and then speaking about what may be very personal experiences can feel overwhelming with a counsellor with whom you’re newly acquainted.

I do understand this with much empathy, being by your side, encourage you to proceed at the pace you feel acceptable to you.

I aim to provide an emotionally safe holding environment to help you and I to build trust and understanding in our relationship from the outset.
