About me and my therapy practice
I work with people who are seeking to address issues and patterns in their lives which have become obstructive, and I have a special interest in anxiety, identity, body issues, recovery from trauma; grief, loss, shame and life crises.
My holistic approach is underpinned by over 15 years of professional experience working with people therapeutically in diverse settings and contexts. Throughout this time I have trained extensively, learning a wide range of established therapeutic perspectives*. This allows me to tailor the therapy to your unique needs, rather than forcing you into a specific model.
I provide a calm, confidential space where we can talk about your life, including what is going on for you now, and how you may have come to be where you are.
Our meetings will allow exploration of whatever comes up for you, so that you can see more clearly and choose whatever might be best to do next. I am open to working with anything you bring that feels important to you.
As a person of mixed heritage who grew up moving around a lot, I have a deep understanding of issues related to identity and belonging, including feeling uncomfortable in your own skin, ‘otherness’, the tensions involved in navigating conflicting cultural norms, and difficulties related to being a foreigner.
Blending professional training, clinical and life experience, I offer a warm human environment where we can attend to your struggles and suffering so that you can find more meaning and fulfilment in your life.
My stance is vehemently anti-discriminatory. You are warmly welcome regardless of your background, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, skin colour, body type, ability, neurology or faith.
*I work reflexively across transpersonal, psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT, solution focused, motivational and somatic/body based modalities, in addition to drawing from imagery, imagination and dreams.
Practice description
I practice from central London W1G (Monday afternoons), Queens Park NW6 (Wednesday afternoons) and Willesden Green NW2 (Fridays), as well as online.
I am open to hybrid arrangements, where we sometimes meet online and sometimes in person.
My first session
I offer an initial 20-minute phone or Zoom chat free of charge, so that you can ask any questions you have and see if I am someone you might want to work with.
Following our initial contact, if it seems like we might be a good fit, we can arrange for a session or two where we may focus on your reasons for seeking support and what you would like to work through. This will also give us a chance to establish a counselling agreement to honour the nature of our sessions.
