About me and my therapy practice
Is everything okay?....... This can be a difficult question to answer. Our default response is often "yes", but deep down, for a lot of us, that's simply not true. Often we struggle to verbalise it, can be exceptionally good at denying it even exists or spend copious amounts of emotional energy keeping it at bay.
Perhaps you know why you don't feel okay and perhaps you don't. Either way, I can help. I offer a safe, confidential space to allow you to explore any issues you may be experiencing.
I offer individual and couple counselling and my aim is to provide a safe space, to allow you (and your partner) to work through any personal or professional difficulties you are experiencing.
I am also a High Conflict Coach and work with clients who are involved in child custody cases around the UK.
Specialist areas include: Trauma, bereavement, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, domestic abuse, childhood issues, health, life transitions, loss and change.
Taking that initial step looking for help can be scary. Please get in contact and let's see if I can help?
Practice description
I am trained in a therapeutic approach called Person Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy. This approach emerged from the client work and research of psychologist Dr Carl. R. Rogers.

As your counsellor/psychotherapist I will:

Deeply respect you as a person and accept who you are right now – I believe that you know best what troubles/hurts/angers you.
Believe that you have the capacity within you to start a process of understanding yourself.
Value the relationship between us in counselling which is important in helping you understand and make sense of your feelings.
Commit to being my most honest and genuine self in all our interactions to create an therapeutic environment where real change may occur for you.

If our work together requires it I may draw on other therapeutic modalities however as I believe you know yourself better than I ever could; I will not use techniques or strategies in our work together without you knowing and agreeing to them first.
My first session
I offer a 10 minute free introductory session to answer any questions or concerns you may have in relation to therapy. This also gives us a chance to explore whether we are a good fit.
The therapeutic relationship between a client and their therapist is key to a productive encounter and experience, and its one of the most important parts of the process.
I ask for some basic client information at the outset, and lay out my privacy notice and contract information.
I currently offer 60 minute sessions for individuals and either 60 or 90 minute sessions for couples.
