About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling via telephone or video consultation to adults. I offer weekly 50 minute sessions, which will take place on the same day and the same time each week.
As a Psychodynamic Counsellor, I work with both the conscious and unconscious mind, to help you to work through and understand your emotions and thought processes. My educational background includes a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, as well as a degree in Psychology.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental space in which you feel able to speak about anything. It is your time, and I am there to give you the attention and support you need. I do not offer advice, but rather the chance for you to explore your emotions and to work with you in understanding them and how they impact your life.
I have worked with clients with a wide array of presenting concerns, including trauma, relationship issues, depression, BPD, adverse childhood experiences, eating disorders, anxiety, work stress, and many more.
The idea of coming for therapy may feel daunting or anxiety provoking, but I am here to listen and be there for that journey with you, if you feel that I am the right therapist for you.
Practice description
I work remotely, and so can offer both telephone and video counselling sessions. I am available for day or evening sessions, and will work with you to find the best time for your sessions.
I invoice clients weekly, and payments can be made through bank transfer. If you have any questions regarding this, we can discuss this in your first session.
My first session
When you first get in touch, you will be offered a consultation session through whichever medium you prefer (video or telephone). For this session you have the option of a free 10 minute call or a full 50 minute session. Whilst I would normally suggest a full session to enable us both to get a better idea of what working together would be like, I understand that a 10 minute check-in might feel more comfortable for you before committing to a full session.
In that session we will discuss your expectations and hopes for your counselling, and I will discuss the structure of our sessions and my contract. This session will also include more questions on my part, and I may ask you to tell me about your present situation as well as your personal history. This will also be a time for you to ask any questions you may have.
After this, we can both decide together if you would like to continue with further sessions. At this point we can arrange a weekly session which works for you. We can decide on a specific number of sessions or leave it open-ended, whatever feels right for you.
