About me and my therapy practice
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ
I am an integrative psychotherapist and art therapist, registered with , working with adults and adolescents in the centre of Exeter. Whatever challenges life has thrown your way, I believe that a supportive relationship is the starting point for being able to face into those difficulties and find a way towards hope and meaning again.
Finding a therapist is a very personal process. You need to find somebody you feel you can trust, and somebody you believe can help you.
I see therapy as a unique opportunity to build a relationship where you feel safe and understood, and where we can face some of our greatest challenges and most painful experiences, in the hope of moving to a life of increased joy and purpose.
Being an “integrative psychotherapist” means that I draw on a number of different approaches to therapy to find what is most helpful for each of my clients. My art therapy training means that I love to draw on all kinds of creativity - using images, paint, clay, sand tray, movement and poetry - as a way of exploring things that can be hard to talk about. I never enforce use of the arts but I make them available to everyone I work with.
Practice description
I work face to face with clients from my office in Argyle House, Candy Street in the centre of Exeter. It is a calm space in a beautiful part of town. Work on zoom may also be considered.
As an art therapist I make all kinds of creative materials available to my clients. No artistic expertise or previous experience is required and the goal is never artistic brilliance! I encourage experimentation and self-exploration because I believe the arts offer us a way of communicating and exploring our inner worlds in ways which words do not always allow. I do not interpret my clients' work or tell them what it means - together we think about what it might contain.
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. Sessions cost £50 and can be paid weekly or per half-term. My work follows state school term dates. In the summer I do not work during August.
My practise operates on a Tuesday between 8am and 6.30pm.

My first session
I offer all new clients an initial session in which we can get to know one another and decide whether or not we would like to meet regularly.
