About me and my therapy practice

I work with both Young People (Children & Teens) and Adults.

The branch of training I had (Humanistic through an existential lens) means I have an interest in what's happened to us, how we make meaning of it, then how we connect and relate both in a therapy room and beyond.

My intention is for you to feel empowered to work through what is happening, moving forward in a way that serves you. This helps me so we can work together step-by-step; enabling you to find more clarity and understanding on the choices available to you. I also like to explore and acknowledge the unique situation you are in, in your relationships, social group, family and cultural influences. All of these play a part within your journey. Additionally, we can explore where you have come from on your path, and how you experience and see the world. Much like the sails on a boat; navigating all the weather around it, I am alongside you on that journey of gently unpacking it all, as our relationship develops in your own time.

Research tells us the most important feature of successful therapy is the relationship. I understand first-hand from being a client myself how important it is to feel safely held in a non-judgemental space to express those deeper concerns. I offer the same which is why it is important to me that you feel we are a ‘right fit’. Not every counsellor is right for every client, and although it may naturally take time to build trust; my intention is for you to feel comfortable in a warm, friendly and confidential alliance as we work through things together as two human beings in a room. In addition, although every client teaches me and informs my experience as a therapist; how I work with you will not be the same as any other client; I tailor my experiences and understanding to respond and work with your individual needs, session-to-session.

Practice description

My practice is based in Worthing in a comfortable safely held space at The Counselling Practice. Street parking available and within walking distance of mainline station.

With teens and children, I offer an initial consultation with parents guardians, together and then for as long as your child or teen feels the therapy is helping them work through any difficulties.

With adults, I offer an initial consultation to see if you feel I am the right therapist for you, and if you are happy we start the work together.

Therapy is open ended. That means, we will work together as long as you feel the therapy is supporting you in moving forward in your life.
