About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, collaborative and respectful approach, valuing the therapist/client relationship as fundamental in therapy work. I am interested in what is getting in the way of you living the life you hope for. Things happen to us, yet it is how we relate to them that shapes our current experience and future. We all have difficulties and challenges in our lives. I believe that having someone to explore issues with can lead us to gain insights about what is happening for us, and patterns of behaviour that may be impacting our relationships and experiences. Self-awareness and understanding enables choice and perspective, helping us feel stronger and gain more self-esteem. Working together to gain understanding, I will then help support you in choosing what your way forward will be.
We will sit in a comfortable private consulting room and we will talk. I work with adults, weekly, in 50-minute sessions, both short- and long-term, which is decided and reviewed together. Sessions are in person at East Molesey, or Esher, or online.
I offer a free 15-minute call prior to booking during which I can answer any questions you may have to help decide if what I offer is what you need.
Practice description
I am an Integrative-Relational Psychotherapist/Counsellor, with a first-class BA Honours degree in Integrative-Relational Counselling, and my experience includes working in the NHS and Private Practice.
I work with a variety of theoretical approaches, the main ones being humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment, cognitive behavioural and existential. I integrate these as appropriate with each individual I am working with. I have experience in working in the following areas: anxiety, depression, stress, loss (including grief and bereavement, break-up, redundancy and life-limiting illness), abuse, health issues, family issues, trauma, anger issues and management, life crises, work stress and burn-out, identity (including changing roles in life such as transition to parenthood and sexual orientation), navigating change, OCD, low self-esteem, existential issues (such as meaning, death and aging) and relationship difficulties. This is not an exclusive list, please do get in touch if there is something not mentioned here that you would like help with.
I regularly undertake Continued Professional Development (CPD’s) and training, as part of my commitment to keep my skills and knowledge relevant and current, and to further enrich my development and work. As a registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, I am guided by their ethical principles, values and good practice standards.
