I work Monday - Friday and offer online and telephone therapy to adult individuals aged 18 and over.

About me and my therapy practice

Whatever it is you are struggling with right now, I know how hard it can be to find someone to talk to.

You may still be carrying emotional hurt and pain from past life experiences or finding it hard to cope with more recent life changes or events.

Or perhaps you are feeling a bit lost, confused and alone in your life but don't really understand why, and you may now find that you are no longer experiencing true happiness or enjoyment in the things that you do.

All of this may be leading to conflict and tension in your close relationships, having a negative impact on your self-confidence and sense of self-worth, and generally making you feel more irritable, anxious or depressed day-to-day.

Training & Experience

I have been trained in a therapeutic model called the Person-Centred Approach, which is based on the belief that we all have the potential to heal and grow, and find our own way to move forward and progress in our life.

No matter what difficulties you are facing, my role is to create a supportive and trusting environment where you feel comfortable enough to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment or criticism, and where you can begin to make sense of whatever it is you are struggling with.

I have experience of working with people who have a wide range of presenting issues, such as:

  • bereavement, grief & loss in all its forms
  • anxiety
  • depression & low mood
  • suicidal ideation
  • difficult life changes/transitions
  • neurodivergence
  • work stress
  • relationship difficulties
  • loneliness, isolation and disconnection
  • low self-confidence and self-worth
  • navigating polyamorous relationships

As well as working in Private Practice, I have also spent time volunteering with two charitable counselling services in Edinburgh and West Lothian.

Practice description

I believe that a safe and trusting relationship is at the heart of good therapy, and just having someone listen to your story can lead to the possibility of change.

In the relaxed and welcoming space that I offer, I will listen to you without judgement, and will respond in an open, honest and accepting way.

My warm and sensitive manner makes me very easy to talk to, and together, we will gently explore whatever it is you are struggling with, so that you can start to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and feel more confident in yourself and in your relationships with others.

I will help you find and re-connect with your inner values and sense of self-worth so that you can finally move past whatever is holding you back in your life.

My first session

Introductory Calls and Initial Sessions

From my own life experience, I know how important it is to find a therapist that you truly feel a connection with, so that you are able to talk openly and honestly about how you are feeling. That is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call followed by a reduced fee of £35 for our first session together. This will allow you to get a sense of who I am as a therapist and what it might be like to work with me.

Enquiries

If you think you may be ready to begin therapy, please send me a brief email or text message letting me know that you would like to consider having counselling with me. I usually reply to messages within 24 hours, but sometimes my emails go into people's junk folders, so remember to check for this if you have not received a reply from me.

We will then arrange a suitable date and time for your free 15 minute introductory call. This will be an opportunity for us to consider whether I might be able to offer you the support you are looking for.

After the introductory call, if we do decide to work together, we will then organise an initial 50 minute session with a reduced fee of £35, and we will take it from there.
