About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in the impacts of trauma, from events such as childhood neglect, abuse, assault, domestic violence, serious illness, workplace trauma, and financial stress. I also work with clients with many other life challenges and emotional difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, stress and overwhelm, PTSD, self-harm, eating disorders and body image issues. Additionally, I have experience working with high-net-worth individuals and understand the unique challenges they may bring to therapy.

I work in an integrative way, which as the name suggests is a combined approach that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Each person deserves to be considered as an individual with a unique set of problems, and counselling techniques need to be tailored to your personal needs and circumstances.

I understand the courage it requires to take the first step and seek help. But I also know that it is possible to find a way through challenging personal issues and lead a happier and more productive life, with more meaningful relationships and less emotional instability.

I will actively listen and offer you my skills, time and understanding to talk about your issues, with the aim of reducing negative feelings and confusion and increasing your ability to cope with challenges and make positive changes to your life.

It is important that the therapeutic relationship is one of trust and respect. I will be impartial and non-judgemental, providing a safe and confidential environment for you to explore and make sense of who you are, your life and your experiences. My role as a counsellor is to support you to explore your thought and behaviour patterns, and this may involve gently challenging your beliefs and thought processes in order to help you see things from different perspectives.

I am registered to provide counselling and psychotherapy services with a number of private health insurance companies, including Aviva, Axa, BUPA, Cigna, Vitality and WPA.

Online Therapy

I am able to provide online therapy services to clients throughout the UK and internationally. Online therapy sessions are via Zoom.

I am a Certified Online Counsellor.

Please contact me for information on session fees.

Therapy sessions are usually booked at the same time each week for the duration of therapy.

Therapy is open-ended and therefore there is no limit to the number of sessions. Regular reviews are undertaken to assess how the client is progressing.

Additional Information

Please note that I do not offer telephone or text sessions.

Please note my cancellation policy: cancellations or missed sessions within 48 hours of the session time will incur the full fee. This policy ensures fairness to all clients, as appointment slots are carefully allocated each week and short-notice cancellations or no shows result in unfilled spaces.

My fees are renewed annually.

My first session

If you are considering therapy and would like to speak to me about this, please contact me.

I offer a free of charge initial online assessment of up to 30 minutes via Zoom or WhatsApp video to discuss your counselling requirements and expectations. This gives you the opportunity to meet me, to establish whether my skills are a good match for your particular issues, and to see how we both feel about working together.

If we agree that the fit seems right, we can commence therapy sessions. Before the first session I will send you a counselling agreement that you can read through and return to me. This outlines information around confidentiality and working safely, and payment details. If there are any questions regarding the agreement, you can let me know before we start.

In the first session together you can give me a more detailed understanding of your current issues and we can agree what your goals are and what you would like to look at together first. We will undertake regular reviews throughout our work to see how things are going and whether your needs have changed.
