About me and my therapy practice
I am a bilingual counsellor, offering therapy in both Polish and English since 2019. My practice is built on creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment where clients can feel safe to explore their emotions, thoughts, and challenges.
I utilise an integrative approach, primarily drawing from Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows me to tailor sessions to each client’s unique needs. The person-centred approach ensures that clients feel heard and valued, fostering an empathetic and non-directive space. Meanwhile, CBT provides practical tools to help clients identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour. This combination is effective in addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey where we work together to discover insights, build resilience, and achieve personal growth. I focus on fostering self-awareness and equipping clients with practical strategies that can be applied in their everyday lives.
As a counsellor, I am also sensitive to the cultural and personal contexts that shape my clients' experiences, ensuring that they feel understood and respected. My goal is to empower individuals to make meaningful changes, enhance their well-being, and lead more fulfilling lives.
Practice description
Welcome to my counselling practice. Since 2019, I have been offering therapy in both Polish and English, helping clients navigate personal challenges with a compassionate and supportive approach. My practice is centred around creating a warm and safe environment, where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.
I work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, identity, and sexuality. I am also experienced in working with couples and addressing children’s issues. By using an integrative approach, I draw from two key therapeutic models: Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Person-Centred Therapy provides a space where you are valued, heard, and supported without judgement, allowing for self-exploration and personal growth. CBT, on the other hand, offers practical techniques to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, providing tools to manage day-to-day difficulties.
Clients can expect a collaborative process, where we work together to explore your concerns and develop personalised strategies for coping and healing. I aim to empower you with the skills and understanding needed to make meaningful changes in your life.
As a bilingual counsellor, I’m highly sensitive to cultural contexts and the current social climate. I have a deep understanding of how these factors, along with identity, sexuality, and family dynamics, influence the individual’s experience. Whether we are working through complex emotions or building resilience, my goal is to help you gain insight, build confidence, and enhance your overall well-being.
Sessions are tailored to suit your individual needs, and I offer a confidential, empathetic, and flexible approach to ensure you feel supported throughout your therapeutic journey.
My first session
In the first session, I conduct a thorough assessment to better understand your needs and how we can best work together. This session is typically longer than regular sessions, as it allows me to gather important information about your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. During this session, I may use assessment tools, such as those based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to evaluate specific areas of concern, such as anxiety, depression, or stress.
This extended time helps ensure that the therapy is tailored to your individual needs and sets the foundation for our future sessions. There is no additional charge for the longer assessment session, and we will also have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about the process. This session is crucial in creating a personalised plan that focuses on your well-being and therapeutic progress.
Additionally, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation before the first session. This gives us a chance to briefly discuss your concerns and ensure that we are a good fit for working together. By the end of the first session, we will have a clear understanding of the direction of therapy and how we can work together to address your goals.
