About me and my therapy practice
I offer open-ended and short-term psychodynamic therapy to individuals that pays attention to the patterns that may have developed in your relationship with yourself, with others and with the outside world. A period of difficulty or stress may bring you to therapy but as we talk you may find this resonates with other experiences you have had in your life.
I trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at Brighton University and at Goldsmiths, University of London as a Movement Psychotherapist. I am a member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ), the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA) and the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMP).
I previously practised Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) which was designed to support people who can experience emotional dysregulation and challenges in their relationships and sense of self.
Practice description
I believe one of the most important and informative parts of therapy is the relationship we develop between us. The trust that can develop over time will allow us to think non-judgementally about the meaning of your expereince. Therapy has the potential to be a pleasurable experience even if we are talking about difficult or painful things and can often become a rewarding and fulfilling part of one's life.
My first session
After you have been in touch, we can either speak on the phone briefly or be in email contact to see if you would like to meet face-to-face for a session. During this conversation, I can let you know my fee scale and cancellation policy and discuss with you what you might be hoping for from therapy.
The first in-person session is chargeable but you are not obliged to continue if you feel it is not right for you.
I practice from Brighton Therapy Centre in the North Laine area of Brighton.
