I hold counselling sessions in parks, woodlands and countryside around Tonbridge, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells or Sevenoaks - wherever you feel most comfortable. Online sessions are also an option.
About me and my therapy practice
Life can be overwhelming at times, and can lead to us feeling thoroughly burnt out and exhausted.
Maybe you're here because you're longing for a life where you feel fulfilled and understood, instead of feeling resentful and pulled in different directions? Our sessions can act as a pressure valve, making day to day life more manageable and enjoyable.
Perhaps you're feeling overloaded or trapped by home and family life, maybe as a parent or carer. Perhaps you're worn out with work/studies and losing motivation. You might feel like you're not the person you used to be, or want to be.
Being listened to in a non-judgmental way can cut through the overwhelm, guilt and isolation of burnout.
I hold counselling sessions in accessible outdoor spaces (parks, woodlands, countryside) around Tonbridge, Southborough/Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks in Kent. Daily life can feel pressured and stifling, and being in nature is proven to relax an overworked brain and calm our nervous system. We can look to make that load that you're carrying feel a bit lighter, and work towards building a life that's more on your terms.
Practice description
My counselling style is collaborative, warm, hopeful and pragmatic. I'm not going to give clumsy advice or dictate to you how to fix things. I'm here to allow you the time and space to make sense of your world right now. Starting counselling can be life-changing, helping you to understand and build on your strengths that have helped you get this far, in spite of everything.
Maybe you'd rather brief therapy, or something more open-ended. We can review as we go. Maybe you'd like to hold some/all of your sessions online - that's fine too. I aim to provide you with a pocket of time in your busy life that is yours, to use how you need.
Would you like to get in touch?
If you would like to have a discussion about counselling sessions, then please send me a message or call me. We can arrange a short phone call at a time convenient to you, to look at what you'd hope to achieve from counselling, and what our sessions together might look like moving forward.
Further background on my training and experience
My core counselling training can be described as person-centred and integrative. In a nutshell, that means that I believe that you've ultimately got the answers within yourself. I might offer up elements of different approaches (such as solution-focused therapy) to help you explore your issues, increase in confidence and work out your options.
Some further information about me:
- Qualified counsellor since 2010
- 10+ years experience working in counselling, advocacy, parental support and youth outreach roles, mainly in the charity sector. I have also provided counselling within community, NHS and education settings
- Delivered individual and group support around burnout and self-advocacy
- Undertaken specialist training both in delivering counselling outdoors and online, as well as a range of other CPD.
If you'd like to get in touch, we can arrange a brief call to explore whether I'm the right counsellor for you.
My first session
Before our first session outdoors, we'll have a short phone call to run through some practical considerations and discuss how we'll make sure we maintain your privacy in an outside space. We'll choose a meeting point and, if you have mobility needs, we can talk those over and make a plan that works well for you.
When we meet on the day, you can choose our walking pace and we can do a mixture of walking and sitting, or do the whole session simply sat outdoors.
You might not always know what to talk about and that's completely fine.
So if you feel like we might be a good fit, please get in touch. We can arrange our quick free-of-charge phone call, and go from there.

Supervisor - Tonbridge
Features
Availability
I offer clinical supervision to qualified counsellors, either online or outdoors in west Kent.
My areas of interest include:
- working with burnout (therapist burnout or clients experiencing this issue)
- outdoor therapy
- online therapy
- returning to practice after a career break
Sessions take place during weekday daytimes.
About me and my therapy practice
Here are my answers to some hopefully useful questions...
What supervision qualifications do you have?
I am currently nearing the end of my Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision (including Online and Telephone Working), through Counselling Tutor. This Level 6 training focuses on Hawkins & Shohet’s Seven-eyed model of supervision, amongst other models.
I have also spent many years providing line management supervision within the charity sector, where I supported advocates, outreach workers and listening support volunteers with their casework and professional development.
What is your style/approach?
In my counselling practice, I work pluralistically, with my core modalities being person-centred and solution-focused therapy. I work with a wide range of clients but have a particular interest in working with those on the path to burnout, often due to workplace or family pressures.
In my supervision practice, I look to provide a warm, creative and pragmatic space to reflect on your counselling work and its impact, and to recharge your batteries.
What do you offer?
I offer 60 or 90 minute supervision sessions, either on an ongoing basis or as standalone ad-hoc sessions. This can be either:
- Outdoor Supervision in quiet, accessible leafy spaces around Tonbridge and Sevenoaks in west Kent
- Online Supervision via Zoom or similar
You could also choose to do a mixture of the two, if that works best for you.
What is your background and experience?
In 2010, I obtained my Foundation Degree in Counselling, awarded with Distinction, from the University of Bristol. My degree was in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling.
I spent a decade working in the charity sector, in counselling, advocacy, parental support, youth outreach and supervisory/management roles. I also provided counselling within community, NHS and education settings.
In spring 2022, I set up my private practice (further details available on my website).

What does outdoor supervision look like?
Maybe you are an outdoor therapist, or looking to offer this in your practice. Or maybe you just find that you think clearest when you’re out in the fresh air.
Being in nature is shown to have considerable physical and mental benefits, which can apply to supervision as much as anywhere else. Reflecting on our work outdoors can improve our focus, boost our creativity, intuition and problem-solving skills, and lower our stress levels.
Sitting in a traditional consulting room isn't for everyone; sometimes sitting under a tree or in the meadow opens our mind to new perspectives and possibilities for both us and our clients.
We’ll discuss suitable locations and what we need to put in place to absolutely ensure client confidentiality. We’ll also consider contingencies in the event of bad weather, and any mobility needs that you’d like taken into account.
I have undertaken additional training in the area of eco-supervision and have my own clinical supervisor who also practises in this way.
What does online supervision look like?
Maybe you work as an online counsellor. Maybe you are not local to west Kent but are looking for a burnout-informed supervisor, or maybe online supervision is your preference for reasons of time and convenience.
I have specialist training in Online and Telephone Counselling, as well as in Online Supervision, so I understand the nuances of working in this way.
What are your fees?
My fee is £60 for 1 hour, or £80 for 1.5 hours of counselling supervision.
