About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging. We can be hit by the breakdown of a relationship or friendship, a bereavement, a traumatic event, a serious medical diagnosis, work-related stress, or many other upsetting life events.
Sometimes we suffer such strong feelings, and become so stuck, that we can’t see how to get life back on track. We can’t see how to make any progress, how to deal with our emotions, how to solve our problems.
Counselling can help by allowing you a safe space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings without feeling judged or rushed. It can help you discover what is going on for you, and enable you to take more control. It can help you understand and manage your emotions, and reduce your stress. It can help relieve depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Buckinghamshire. I live near High Wycombe and work face to face in rooms near the station. I also work remotely UK-wide, using Zoom or by phone.
Practice description
I have extensive experience helping people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, stress and other mental health conditions, relationship problems and bereavement. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space in which to explore and work through your thoughts and feelings. I offer short- and long-term therapy.
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I apply the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ’s Ethical Framework to my work and have regular counselling supervision. I am DBS-checked and have appropriate professional insurance.
In addition to working in private practice, I work with clients through a national bereavement charity and a national mental health charity.
My approach is person-centred, focussing on your experience and your needs. It draws on psychodynamic insights, and on cognitive behavioural approaches. It is adaptable depending on your needs and preferences. At its heart it uses talking as a way of unlocking psychological problems, helping you to understand what is happening and take control.
