About me and my therapy practice

I have a clinical MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Goldsmiths, University of London, following an MSc from University College London in Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies, which enhances my cognitive approach. I work with clients on a wide range of issues (such as depression, anxiety and unwanted habits) and I have a particular interest in OCD and phobias.

I also have Level Two certification in TEAM-CBT, a framework developed by David Burns, one of the pioneers of cognitive behavioural therapy. TEAM-CBT draws on techniques from many schools of therapy to tailor an approach best suited to the client's needs.

I also have training in specialised approaches to OCD (including ICBT (Inference-Based CBT) and Rumination-Focused CBT. I find these very effective in cases where treatment has not previously been sufficiently successful.

Practice description

I use a cognitive behavioural approach in my therapeutic work. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying thinking patterns and behaviours that may be contributing to distressing feelings. Through collaborative work, clients and I explore these thoughts and actions through a mixture of discussion and exercises to help find new kinds of responses to help relieve anxiety and low mood. CBT is usually a fairly short-term treatment and I see most clients, on average, for twelve to fifteen sessions, although this varies according to the client’s individual needs.

I see some clients online via Zoom, but I also meet clients in person in North Oxford at specialist therapy rooms managed by The Practice Rooms.

My first session

I start with a phone assessment, which lasts 15 to 30 minutes to see if my approach might be a good fit for a potential client. This assessment is free.
