Practice description
Do you feel that it's all too much right now? Perhaps you've been carrying the weight of your concerns alone, not wanting to trouble anyone else? Whatever challenges you're dealing with, trying to keep going without addressing the impact on you, can lead to anxiety, depression and even physical ill health.
We can work together to find ways to reduce that overwhelming feeling, and get a sense of balance, so you can begin to cope with what life throws at you. Anxiety and low mood, work stress, managing the needs of your family or dealing with pain and loss; talking therapy can help. With support, you’ll find it easier to manage these feelings in a way that feels right for you, without compromising your personal or professional relationships.
Working with adults and young people in private practice and education, as well as having a family of my own, has helped me to appreciate that putting loved ones first, and protecting them from difficult feelings, can feel like a priority. My professional experience has taught me that it’s not just parents who feel this way. Children from a young age into adulthood, can often feel that they want to shield their family from whatever’s troubling them, and find that talking to someone in a safe, neutral setting provides an outlet for these feelings, offering relief from the pressure of putting on a brave face, so they can reconnect and begin to enjoy quality time together.
